Sapphire Island

Katniss P.O.V

After leaving Darren we went to the next thing on the list which was explore an island. So we are currently on the boat and the weather is really calm. "How do you know about this island?" I ask Ruby. "Katniss I'm a mermaid. I know the ocean like the back of my hand" she says and I laugh. "Okay so I guess you know that there is a giant rock in front of us" I say and her eyes widen. I start laughing. "Just kidding" I say and she rolls her eyes. Peeta wraps his arms around my waist and I smile and turn my head round. "Hey" I say. "Hey" he says smiling. "We're nearly there!" Ruby shouts and I smile. Everyone cheers as we pull up to the island. "Are you sure this is safe?" I ask and she laughs. "Safe ? No. Really cool? Yes!" She says and jumps off the boat and onto the sand. I look worriedly at Peeta. "Everyone stick together and watch out for anything that could hurt you. And if you don't recognise a plant then don't touch it!" Ruby shouts as everyone else jumps off the boat. Me and Peeta are last and run to catch up with the others who have started walking. We start to walk through the big trees and I take Peetas hand. After 2 hours on a boat I can finally stretch my legs. We just keep walking and gale tries to spook us out but it's not working. "What was that?!" I ask as I heard rustling from beside us. "Very funny I didn't hear anything" Alex says and I shake my head. "No seriously it came from through there" I say. "Well we're not going through!" Alex says and I shake my head. "You wanted an adventure? Well this is it" I say and they all look at me uneasily. "I'll go first" I say and Peeta walks through with me and the others follow closely behind. When I get through I see a girl lying on the ground with a boy next to her. Well they look about 20 but they are very thin and dirty. "Are they dead?!" Calum shouts and I hush him but the two people jump up and stare at us wide eyed. "Oh my god!" The woman shrieks and runs at us and hugs me. "OMG!" She screams. "Eric get over here!" She shouts and the boy comes running. "Who are you?" I ask and she steps back. "It's a long story, how did you get here. Are you going back. Where are we?" She asks and I look at Ruby. "Yeah we're exploring the island and we have a boat" She says. "You're on Sapphire Island" she says. The girl smiles. "Can we come home with you?" She asks and I nod. "Yeah but who are you?" I ask. "Everyone sit" she says sighing and stands next to Eric. "Okay my names Tanya and this is Eric , my boyfriend. We came to this island a couple of years ago on a boat trip. Nobody knew we were coming except us but our boat got wrecked in a storm and we washed up here. Nobody has even came near the island in 2 years" she says and I look at them wide eyed. "How did you survive?" I ask. "Hunting skills and coconut milk" she says and I shake my head. "And nobody came looking for you?!" I say shocked and she shakes her head. "Well not that I know of" she says and I nod. "Yeah we'll take you home" I say smiling. She sighs in relief. "You two swim back. There won't be enough room" Johanna sends to me and Ruby I think. "Okay" I send back. "Okay how about you guys go ahead and we'll catch up" I say to everyone and they nod. Ruby stays behind and I smile at her. "Okay let's swim" I say sighing and she grins. "Let's swim" she says and runs towards where the water is. I chase her and we both jump in and wait for our tails to transform before swimming back to shore. I can't believe they have been stuck there for 2 years. It must have been dreadful.

We dropped Eric and Tanya at their home and have them out numbers we head to our next activity but none if us can get over the fact that they have lived there for 2 years. Anyway our next thing on the list is answer a call on a suicide helpline which I accidentally wrote twice so we put in spend $100 at an old sweetie shop. So we are driving to the call centre for that and we'll work out charm and ask can we all answer a call each on the helpline. We are just parking in the car park and then we get out. "You ready?" I ask and everyone nods. "Let's go" I say and everyone nods. We walk into the building and up to the front desk. "Hi how can I help you?" The woman asks kindly. "Hi we were wondering if it would be possible for is to answer a call?" I ask hopefully and she thinks for a minute. "Well nobody's ever volunteered like this so I'll call the boss" she says smiling and I nod. She presses a button and a few minutes later a woman with blonde hair tied in a messy bun and jeans with a t-shirt on walks out. "What's the matter?" She asks when she sees us. "They want to voluntary take a call each" she tells her and the woman purses her lips. "I don't see why that would be a problem" she says smiling. "I can trust you right?" She asks and we nod. "Thank you" she says. "Do you mind if I supervise though?" She asks and we shake her heads. "Great" she says. "Tell the staff they have a short break" she says smiling and the girl behind the desk nods before running through a door. A few minutes later about 20 people come out smiling at us as they pass. "You go in and I'll be in just now" she says and I nod. We all walk through and take a seat in a booth. They are all boarded off so it's private. The boss walks in after a few minutes. "Okay when the phone rings answer it and then just talk to them" she says. "If you need help just put a hand up" she says smiling. "How many calls do you get a day?" I ask. "Anywhere from 500-1000" she says and I nod. One of the phones ring and jade looks at it nervously before picking it up. She talks to whoever is on the other line for about ten minutes and by that time most of our phones have rang leaving Johanna and Annie's left. After we are all done Annie and Johannas ring simultaneously. They both answer and talk for about 20 minutes before hanging up and sighing. "Well were they all successful?" The boss asks hopefully. "Yeah" we all say in unison and she smiles. "Perfect" she says. "You can go now if you want to. Thanks for your help" she says and we smile. "Jade can you wait back?" She asks and she nods. We all walk out leaving jade and the boss behind. We wait for ten minutes before jade walks out with a bag and a smile plastered on her face. "I just got a job" she says smiling and Tyler hugs her. "When are you working. "Well night shift on Monday and Thursday and during the day on Wednesday and Sunday." She says and we all congratulate her. "What's in the bag?" I ask and she shrugs. "I'll open it in the car" she says and I nod. "Let's go" I say and we wave to the receptionist on the way out. It's about 4 pm now and were going to try squeeze everything in. Even if it takes all night. The next one is visiting a children's ward. This will be a nice one. We are at the children's hospital in district 2 and were visiting the cancer wing. We picked up some magazines and DVDs and little gifts for everyone there. We all walk to the elevator and go up to level 5 where the ward is. We walk down the hall and wash out hands before going in. There is like a little living room are with couches and beanbags and TVs and then there is a door which leads somewhere. There is a hallway filled with doors and there is a few people standing about. "You must be here for the visit" one of the women says and we nod. "I'll go get the children" she says and I smile. A few minutes later about 15 kids all ranging from ages 12-16 are here. There is more girls than boys but there is still about 6 boys who all look older. They all whisper to each other and the woman from earlier makes them be quiet. "These people are here to visit you. Now go say hi" the last says and they all walk over and introduce themselves. A teenage boy comes up to me. "Hey I'm Connor" he says. "Hi Connor , I'm Katniss" I say smiling and he hugs me. "Thanks for visiting , no one ever does. Not even parents" he says. "Are they not allowed?" I ask confused. "No they don't even care about me. They both work in New York and sent me here where my cousin takes care of me." He says. "I'm sorry" I say and he shrugs. "We all have each other" he says brightening the mood. I smile and turn around to the pile of presents. We got some for boys and some for girls. "I don't know but I think the hospital sheets will get boring" I says and he nods. I hand him the ones I bought which are black and white with moustaches on them and it says I moustache you a question. But I'll shave it for later. "Thank you so much." He says and I smile. "We also got this" I say handing him a blue bag. He laughs slightly and pulls out a onesie. I smile and he checks the size. "How did you know?" He asks. "Lucky guess" I tell him and he smiles. It's a dragon onesie. we just bough lots of different sizes. And different animals. He leads me over to the couch where Peeta is giving a girl about 12 a gift. He pulls out a DVD. We also got them all a big surprise. We all put money together and bought them all iPhones. We knew how many kids there were so we bought enough. "OMG!" He says and I laugh. "Thank you so much" he says. "No problem and my numbers in there so you can text me if you want to talk to someone" I say and he smiles. He takes out an I tunes voucher, earphones, a charger and a few other things like sweets and A cool wristband. "Thank you so much" he says unlocking his phone amazed. "Here let's take a picture for the screen" he says and I smile while getting in the picture with him. The smile on his face is totally worth it.

We spent about an hour at the children's ward and they all hugged us goodbye and Connor kisses my cheek. He's so cute. "Okay boys this ones for you."I say laughing and they groan. "Okay so find a stranger , ask what she they are and if they're not too young or old kiss them" I say and they nod. "Challenge accepted" they say in unison and laugh. We'll wait over on that wall" I say and we all go tot the wall and sit on it. Someone catches Ashton's eye because he runs up to someone and full on kisses them. We all go wide eyed and so does the girl. "ASHTON!" She screams and I look at Peeta confused but he just shrugs. He takes the girls hand and walks over to us. "Hey guys this was my girlfriend who moved here a few years ago. Her names Jamie" he says smiling. Luke goes next and I watch as he talks to a girl and then just kisses her. She kisses back and when he pulls back she just smiles before saying something and walking away. Luke runs over and Calum goes next. He just stops a girl and makes out with her. I laugh slightly and look at Michael who is actually nowhere to be seen. I sneak away and try to find him. I look for five minutes before finding him on a bench. Alone. I walk over to him and sit down. "Michael what's wrong?" I ask and he looks up at me with tears in his eyes. "Alice?" I say and he nods. I wipe his tears and pull him into a hug. "Michael you dorm have to do it. If your not ready then that's fine. We won't force you, I promise" I say and he smiles sadly. "I've not even been out with a girl or asked on out since she died" he says playing with something under his shirt. "What's that?" I ask gesturing to it and his eyes widen. I raise an eyebrow and he sighs before pulling out a chain with a rings attached. "You were going to propose" I whisper and he nods while tucking it away. He shakily sighs and looks at me. "Let's just go. I need to get my mind off it" he says and I nod. "Let's go" I say and we both stand up. "Will we do one more and finish the rest tomorrow?" I ask and everyone nods. "Okay well looks like it's paint balling" I say and they all cheer except Michael. I bite my lip and Peeta looks at us curiously. I smile sadly say him and he musty understand because he nods. "Let's go paint balling" I say and everyone nods.

Ashton's old girlfriend came with us paint balling and were dropping her home but she is coming tomorrow just to catch up with Ashton. We walk into the place that we went to last time and we pay and put on our suits before entering the area that we will paintball in. "I'm on the blue team and so is Peeta. As soon as the bell runs I get Ashton and Luke out immediately and run got a shack thing. We run in where the rest of the blues are. I laugh. "Are you going to hide here all day. "Let's go get them!" I say and they all run out the door. I spot Alex and run behind her while shooting her. "Hey!" She shouts and I laugh. "You win some you loose some" I say and she scowls at me. I shrug and run around trying to get the others.

By the end I have out Alex , Luke , both Ashton's, Calum and Ruby. The rest for put out leaving our team the winners. "I think the losers should buy us McDonald's" I say and they huff. "Fine" they says and I laugh. "Let's go!" Annie shouts and runs through the doorway. Or at least she tries to until she realises that there was actually a door. It was just made of glass. Everyone laughs and Finnick checks is she's okay. Annie shakes her head at us and we all laugh harder. This has been a very eventful day so far. I hope we finish our list tomorrow.
