Chapter 14: Six, not Five

"Well someone did it and we need to know who." He said aggravated.

I began waking up and looking around the hospital room, "Michael?" I asked softly, Jolene smiled down at me, "Honey, you're awake. Oh thank Nyx." She sighed.

Abe came into my view staring into my eyes "You scared the crap out of me Anne." He stated checking my pupils. "How do you feel?" He asked.

Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I glared at the IV lines in my hands. "Confused. Very confused." I said looking around the room.

Michael wasn't there though....

'Glad you're still alive Ace.'

I looked to Jolene who was holding my hand "You where poisoned. Koda, Abe and Lincoln went looking for you after you left, they said you seemed off." She stated softly.

"Yeah I was dying. I'm almost sure of it." I said ignoring the horrible taste in my mouth.

Flowers sat all over my small hospital room and I eyed each of the gorgeous flowers, mostly Daisy's and sunflowers, a few red roses and then a beautiful bunch of yellow tulips, a green ribbon wrapped around their vase.

"How long was I out for?" I asked the two of them.

Abe looked to the clock, "Almost fifteen hours. You're probably starving." He said going off to probably get me food.

Jolene eyed the tulips, "Your friends have been dying to see you, your sister slept in the waiting room and she hasn't left since then." She said.

I inhaled feeling my heart break for her, I could only imagine her fear. I couldn't imagine anything happening to her, it would destroy me completely.

"Bring them in please." I said watching her give a single nod and walk out gracefully.

The door opened and Lily walked in slowly with her eyes swollen and puffy, "Anne." She said crying as she got up on the bed with me and curled into my neck.

I smiled wrapping my arms around her and comforting her as she cried her eyes out.

Lincoln walked over placing a kiss to my forehead "Don't scare us like that again, you're lucky Koda found you in the garden." He said shaking his head.

The garden huh?

'Nice scenery don't you think?'

I do think so.

Jameson walked over kissing the top of my head "They thought it was best to tell me after they found you." He laughed.

I agree.

Vesper was sneaking a few of my chocolates giving me a wink and smile. I gave him a wink back.

Kris and Eva gave me smiles "It's good to see you awake babe. It was hell calming Lilith while they went searching for you." Eva said gesturing to the crying Lilith.

I kissed the top of Lily's head, she lifted her snot nosed face and tried to talk "I ca-called mom ah-nd dad. They-re he-ere." She said through gasps and shakes.

Holding her tighter, I leaned my head back "Where are they?" I asked.

Jameson gestured to the door "They're asleep in the waiting room, they where awake all night comforting Lily." He said smiling at her as she smiled wide.

Lincoln wiped a few strays from his eyes, "Sorry just a bit emotional." He said laughing as he wiped a couple other tears trying to be a man. Eva rubbed his arm "Poor sensitive man." She grinned

I took his hand giving it a reassuring squeeze, "I'm starving, so if anyone can tell Abe to hurry. Please." I said sighing.

Vesper nodded "I'm on it." He hurried out the door taking my chocolate.
