I couldn't sleep all night, I stayed up unpacking the box and downloading every tape onto my iPod, then pulling on my sexiest nightgown and comfiest silk robe.
God do I miss my girly and sexy clothes.
I curled my hair and even pampered my face, did my nails and sang every song I could remember singing. It was a much needed fix up after a month of only cold showers and soap bars.
The door knocked and I eyed it carefully as I let my last toe dry. The deep red shining back at me telling me it was too shiny to be dry. Stupid nail.
Walking over to the door, I pulled it open expecting Jolene, but I was welcomed to a great surprise, "Lincoln..." I said smiling up at him.
He let out a shaky breath and pulled me into his chest for a hug. "God dammit Anne." He said shaking his head and hugging me tighter.
It's been a month since I saw him, I never knew what happened after Jolene spelled me to sleep. I knew that vial she drank had to be witches blood, she's a smart woman.
I hugged him back laughing, "It's like one in the morning, what are you doing awake?" I asked while looking him over in confusion.
Lincoln smiled widely taking my hand "I was dreaming of you in your room unpacking and listening to random eighties music. I knew you where back so I woke myself up and headed over." He sounded proud, I think he's embraced his sixth sense.
Leaning my head into the door sill I nodded "You have no idea where I've been the last three weeks." I said shaking my head.
He leaned into the opposite side and dropped his stare to the floor, "You missed the uh funeral." He said with his voice shaky.
I shook my head "I was there. Guarded and covered to make sure no one knew." I said watching him look at me with furrowed brows "What?" He sounded angry.
I gestured for him to come in and he stepped in while I told him everything that's happened the last month, he listened for a good hour before he started dozing off tired. I ended it with Jesse's funeral and didn't get to tell him about Michael at all.
"Go to bed, I'll see you in the morning. Don't tell the others I'm back, I'm going to probably sleep in a little. It'll be the first time I get to sleep in a real bed." I sighed feeling my bed.
It's not metal.
He nodded and kissed the top of my head, "I should probably tell you now before I change my mind but you looked unstoppable that night. Terrified me. Turned me on I hate to admit, but it was scary." He said pursing his lips and then walking to the door.
"Goodnight Link." I called to him and stood following behind him.
He turned and looked back at me, "Goodnight Anne."
I walked him out and watched him go to his dorm, as he headed inside shutting the door I smiled at the closed door before Michael was taken up the stairs. His eyes fixated on the ground but Jolene stopped in front of a dorm.
She gestured to the door handing him a paper. "That's everything, if you need anything you know where my office is. Goodnight." She said waking away.
I leaned into my doorway watching him carefully, and as she headed down the stairs he looked to the stairs going toward them "If you're planning on running off, I should warn you. Every wall has been fixed to be guarded. They'll see you, then they'll drag you back and then you really will be killed." I said watching him stop in his path looking me over and eyeing my body before walking toward me.
His eyes fixed on me specifically, and when he got close enough he leaned into the door sill opposite of me "So Ace, how do you recommend I get out of this shit hole?" He asked.
Hm, should've known he wasn't serious about being a student here.
I smirked "Graduate." I winked and headed inside leaving the door open.
Michael followed slowly inside "This-You-Them, its not my people Ace, if anything I'll probably kill you all by the end of the year." His tone told me he wished he was serious.
Honestly, I don't believe he'd kill them. Not after he told me to help Delora. "Michael I really don't know how to leave, I mean maybe stay a couple months or a year and then request leave. I'm sure they'll trust you by then." I said picking my jar of nail polishes off the bed and placing it on the shelf beside my books.
His eyes moved to my side table and he stared for a while "You kept the rose." He stated more than asked and I turned looking back at the table and eyed the Rose "Seemed like it took a lot of effort, I thought it'd be a waste if I tossed it." I said watching his eyes move around my room for a moment.
Michael took in the room and then nodded "Well, I guess I'll just have to fake it till I make it. Night Ace...and uh...don't ever toss that rose. It's enchanted." He stated giving me a small smirk and walking out the room shutting the door behind him.
I eyed the rose carefully before staring at the door and then back at it picking it up and studying it.
What the hell did he do to it?
Michaels POV:
Sighing, I stared at the shut door with a need to rid her from my mind.
Who wears something that sexy when opening the door? Clearly Angels trying to kill me.
I shook my head sighing and looked into my duffle, good I packed a few nights clothes before I went to the bar. Even better that they kept it. That Jolene chick isn't as bad as dad says, he said she was this stuck up bitch with her nose in the air. She's just protective, something Anne needs.
Walking to my dorm, I gave it a single knock before unlocking it and going inside.
I flipped the light switch on and caught eyes with a very large man who squinted.
I'm a tall and built guy myself, but this guy was a fucking wall.
He sat up and eyed me "Who are you?" He asked annoyed and ready to fight in his half sleep state.
I'd be annoyed too, I'm annoyed for him. "Michael, your room mate." I said watching him nod and cover his face with the pillow before lifting it and looking over at me "We'll establish rules in the morning. I'm Bronx." He said before covering his face again.
Bronx, like Brick. Like brick wall.
I grinned and placed the duffle against the bed shutting the light off and getting into the bed.
How did Anne manage her own room? Lucky ass.
Sexy ass....
She kept the rose...I don't know if I should be happy or scared. But she kept it.
