The Calm amidst the Storm
He found comfort in his heartbeat.

One loud clap of the thunderstorm woke Seokjin up from his sleep , the harrowing sound ringing in his ears as if the sky was being split by the lightning. His heart was racing and he was starting to sweat , his pajamas and bangs already starting to stick to his skin. A bright flash of light and another loud clap brought the blonde to tears , flinching at the sound and sitting up to wake up his lover , dead to the world.

Turning on the lamp , he looked at Jimin , snoring obnoxiously without a care in the world. The corners of his lips dropping , Seokjin shook the man as hard as he can,"J—Jimin– w-wake—ah!" He shouted , feeling as if the lightning struck right on top of their roof , hands immediately going to his ears.

Desperate and annoyed , he ended up kicking the raven awake , tears already threatening to spill from his eyes.

Still drowsy , Jimin groaned and rubbed his eyes , his mind still not registering on what's happening. Seokjin's foot was on his side and all he could see was his glistening face and frazzled look. The clap of the thunder finally woke him up , sitting up immediately and reeling the blonde into his arms , rocking the both of them, "J-Jimin y-yo-you idiot !" Seokjin cried , clinging onto his lover's shirt as if his life depended on it.

The said male apologized and kissed the top of his lover's head, "I'm sorry , I'm sorry— you're alright now , I'm here."

"I w-was so—scared b-but—, "Seokjin spoke , his words being incoherent as he tried his best to calm his breathing.

Jimin rubbed his back , making shushing noises and slowly bringing the both of them down , protectively hugging his lover beneath the sheets, "just concentrate on me , okay , love ?"

Seokjin nodded his head and tried his best to focus on the raven , nuzzling the curve of his neck. A minute into his breathing exercise and the whole world turned muddy before becoming nothing but white noise. Once he drowned out everything , he leaned onto the raven's chest to focus on his heartbeat.

It was calming , it made Seokjin feel secure , protected and like nothing bad could ever happen. Jimin was there in the flesh , hugging him , caging him away from the world , he's like a shelter during a rainy day , a fireplace when it snowed , an island in a flood — he was Seokjin's main source of comfort.

The blonde breathed him in ; Jimin smelled of clementines and fresh linen.

The taller male hugs his lover wholeheartedly , elbows tight against his ribs and fingers digging onto Jimin's back , just like this , he was already starting to slip into slumber , fighting to stay awake. Noticing his struggle , Jimin smiled as he caressed Seokjin's cheek, "you can sleep now."

"But— the thunder.," he mumbled , his hands slowly becoming relaxed.

"I'll be here to protect you , angel , now go and sleep."

It's no use fighting with Jimin , he eventually gets what he wants in the end so Seokjin went along with it , closing his eyes, "I love you , Jimin."

"I love you too , angel," Jimin whispered , hand softly petting Seokjin's head and giving one last kiss to his forehead," so much."

It's been raining for this whole week and I was woken up by the thunderstorm one night and produced this drabble , but I'm not scared of thunders though , a heavy sleeper like me would sleep through a whole apocalypse but the thunder must've struck close enough to wake me up , that's what I get for living on the top floor I guess ^^"
