"I left you alone."

Jimin stared at the necklace he had, fingers running through the chains before stopping at the pendant.

"The locals told me that if you make a wish and then break the chain off, it'll come true!" Seokjin exclaimed, hooking it around his lover and smiling. "It could be just a myth but it seems really cool! On the plus side, it's a nice necklace."

It seemed such a distant memory when he acquired the necklace.  Seokjin gave it to him after he returned from a business trip, beaming about his travels and experiences.

The pair has been together since high school, Jimin falling in love quick and hard after seeing his hyung roaming around the hallways with the prettiest smile on his face. Both of them had a mutual friend, which made them easier to talk to one another and get closer; it's a win for the raven.

Jimin made an elaborate plan to capture Seokjin's heart— through his stomach. The younger male stocked up on chocolate flavored sweets and chocolate milk after finding out that Seokjin liked the flavor but not the real product itself. Sure, it was weird but the raven happily spent his money.

"Jimin-ah, are you trying to make me gain weight?" The older male asked one day, accepting the sweet and plopping it in his mouth.

Bursting with laughter, Jimin shook his head, "no, hyung! I just like seeing you happy. When you eat the food you love, you smile cutely and have sparkles in your eyes."

"Is that a confession?"

The question made the raven perk up, shoulders tensing up. Jimin began to stutter and fumble over his words, his eyes darting anywhere else but his hyung.

Seokjin started chuckling, his face red, "you know, if you liked me you could've just told me. I don't mind going out with you, Jimin."

"Are you for real?!"

"Yes." The brunette nodded, a sweet smile on his face.

They stuck onto each other for 10 years, can you imagine how long that is? To be with someone you love and cherish, for a decade? Jimin was over the moon every time he woke up to a brand new day, waking up beside the taller male and staring at his sleeping face until his eyes opens.

If possible, he even fell deeper for Seokjin.

But Seokjin didn't.

Maybe Seokjin fell in love in the idea of young love, but grew out of it when he got older. This made Jimin think, where did he go wrong? Was it his fault in the first place? He did nothing but shower the taller male with love, surely it must be something else!

Was it a third party? Probably not, the blonde himself takes commitment seriously.

His lover became distant in the recent years, not knowing why. What was the shift? What was the change? The raven wracked his brain, trying to come up with other scenarios.

Jimin sighed and held onto his necklace tightly, "I wish I knew where we went wrong."

With a quick flick of his wrist, the chain broke around his neck, his hand now clutching the pendant. The raven was quick to smell a sweet scent before blacking out.

[ Seokjin POV ];

"Let's break up."

Upon hearing those words, the blonde's world started to spin as the sentence repeated in his head like a broken recorder.

Fighting the urge to burst in tears, Seokjin bit his lip and took a sharp inhale. "Okay."

Jimin looked defeated and hurt, eyes wide as he heard his lover's agreement. He stood up from the sofa and stormed out of their shared apartment, leaving a trail of tears.
