[ 3rd person POV ];

"What's this ? Are you making fun of me ? Do you want to die by my hands ?" Jin questioned as he held up the box that was bejeweled and had little girls on it. Namjoon shook his head," no hyung , I mean it , it's for you."

Jin slumped his shoulders and shook the box in his face ," this is for little girls , Namjoon !"

"It's for anyone who needs a companion , hyung," He affirmed , pushing the box gently back to his hyung. Jin was skeptical , sure , he was busy all the time and he hasn't had a companion but giving him a Tamagotchi only made him look pitiful.

"I appreciate the thought and it's pink but .. you do know these things can die in 0.001 seconds if you don't follow its needs right ?" Jin asked , taking the little keychain of responsibility out of the box and held it in his hands ," I rather get a real pet instead to be honest."

"Well if it dies , at least you know the basics before getting the real thing !" Namjoon reasoned.

"You know I did have Jjangu , right ?"

"Stop arguing with me and just accept your birthday gift , hyung !" Namjoon begged , feeling attacked by his hyung's gaze. " You told me but I can't believe you really bought a Tamagotchi for hyung !" Hoseok commented , pointing to Jin that was holding the egg-shaped device in his hands , pressing away on the buttons , the device emitting digital sounds.

"I'll call it Mochi , just because." Jin commented , pressing on the buttons.

"Can't you just name it Korean ? Manggaeddeok ?" Suga asked , pointing to the keychain. Jin shook his head ,"it's cuter when it's called mochi. It's like Hobi saying 'hobi hobi !' but it's 'mochi mochi !' "

"To be honest , hyung looks like he's enjoying it." Taehyung commented , his eyes turning into crescents and wiggling his eyebrows. Jin , still pressing away and exploring the controls ," am not."

"Aish , hyung goes again with the 'am not' " Jungkook whined , giving his hyung more meat ," eat , hyung !"

They spent their dinner chatting , it was the only time they could see each other since each one of them had different jobs and some of them are still studying so it was hard to meet up. But since it was Jin's birthday , all of them cleared their schedules for the day , be it pretending to be sick or swapping their off days.

After dinner , all of them separated to their own ways , some going to the train station and some going to the bus stop , luckily , they chose a place near Jin so all he needed was to walk home.

While walking , Jin held the device in his hands , looking at it every now and then. Without knowing , he became attached to it , checking it on intervals and making sure the stats are always full. He was a little bit thankful for Namjoon because now he has something to be occupied with instead of having nothing to do for hours whenever he had nothing scheduled for the day.

Jin brought the egg with him wherever he went , determined to keep it alive. Till one day , he woke up to his alarm clock blaring in his room. He scattered out of his bed and rushed to do his morning routine , skipping breakfast.

"Shoot , I'm late ! I'm late !"  He shouted , practically running around to gather the stuff he needs. The Tamagotchi device fell out of his bag , the carpet cushioning its fall , making no sound. Jin rushed out of the house , not knowing he didn't have his "pet" with him.

Once he reached his destination , his friends looked at him , all of them exchanging glances. "I believe you owe me some money," Jungkook said , rubbing  his thumb with his index and middle finger while looking at Taehyung. The other grunted and took out his wallet , giving some money to Jungkook.
