You were good to me
"I won't hurt you anymore."
"You know Jimin, you've always been good to me, I wish I can return your feelings but— I can't." Seokjin spoke, his back facing the raven. It was pitch black in the bedroom but his tone spoke louder than anything else.
Sadness.
The blonde began to tremble slightly as his vision started blurring, heat seeping into his eyes. His body began to tremble in his own bed but he kept his breathing calm, not wanting to alert his room mate.
A sigh escaped Jimin's lips as he turned around and sat up, eyes adjusting to the darkness. He could faintly outline the silhouette of the blonde on the opposite bed, "I know, I'm making it hard for you too."
Jimin heard the sharp inhale that Seokjin took and almost reached his arm out but he stopped himself. Biting on his bottom lip, he asked, "do you regret it? Meeting me?"
"No." Seokjin replied, an accidental sob slipping out of his lips.
Jimin stood up from his bed, walking over to the blonde and sitting beside him. Seokjin turned around, light dancing around the glistening streaks on his face. The raven bent down but the taller male shook his head, "no, we can't."
Seokjin was an exchange student that Jimin had to look after, yes, he was older but that didn't really matter as they clicked right away. Everything seemed natural when it comes to the both of them, they didn't know why but the pair felt themselves getting closer and closer throughout the fleeting weeks. Jimin only had to take care of him for a month but something else blossomed as they stayed together.
The both of them didn't want to admit it but it was soon figured out anyways and they both agreed that it was best to avoid it. Now spending their last night together, their feelings became more erratic; it was harder to control and it started overflowing.
"I'm sorry." Jimin apologized as he pulled himself back, balled up fists holding onto the sheets.
"Let's— let's just go back to sleep, okay?"
With a heavy heart, Jimin went back to his bed and threw the covers over him, curling up into a ball and hugging his bolster tightly. He wished it was Seokjin in his arms, he wished he could give him comforting kisses and reassurances.
He wished they were meant to be.
The morning after was quiet. Jimin woke up and looked over to the bed opposite his; Seokjin was already sitting up with his back to the wall. His eyes and nose were angry, puffy and red from crying the night before. There were deep under bags that hung below his eyes, showing signs that he clearly hadn't slept well.
"Didn't sleep?" The raven asked softly, his voice hoarse and croaky.
"Couldn't." Seokjin answered as soft as a whisper, a small frown on his face.
They stared at each other for as long as they could, trying to engrave their faces in their brain. Jimin spoke up first, "you should probably get ready."
Nodding, the blonde clambered out of his bed and dragged himself into the bathroom. It didn't take that long for him to get ready, he only had an hour to leave the dorm before his bus left him for the airport. Jimin watched Seokjin get ready, his image running around the room from corner to corner as he gathered all his stuff. Once he was done, the both of them stood at the middle of the room, wanting to say their last words.
The ticking of the clock rang in both of their ears as they stared at each other. Seokjin had a death grip on his luggage, mouth opening to speak but instead it hung there.
His throat felt drier than the desert.
Jimin had a huge frown on his face, they were so close yet so far, he could literally just close the distance between them but he didn't; it was as if his feet were rooted to the ground.
A knock from their dormitory door whisked them away from their thoughts, the both of them clearing their throats. Jimin saw the tear that escaped the blonde's eye and wiped it away with his thumb, gently cupping Seokjin's cheek and caressing it afterwards, "I guess— I guess this is it."
Seokjin took a sharp inhale, nodding his head.
"I won't hurt you anymore."
Whimpering, the blonde shook his head, "you never hurt me—"
"—you were good to me." Jimin finished his sentence, smiling painfully.
"I wish I can say those words to you, Jimin, but I don't know when we'll meet again— or if we'll ever see each other again— this may be our one and only time with each other."
"Yeah, I won't say it for your sake too." The raven mumbled under his breath, hand still lingering on the blonde's cheek.
Another knock from their room made them gulp. Jimin withdrew his hand back as the blonde took a step away. He walked towards the door and placed a hand on the knob, turning back again, "goodbye, Jimin."
The click of the door made the raven melt down, running towards it and wanting to swing it open but instead he held onto the doorknob as he slid down to the floor.
"I love you."

Here's a short drabble just for now. I actually had a different drabble from this but it ended up turning into an actual oneshot so :/ Sorry if it doesn't make sense, my brain felt restless/numb so I had to do something.
I have some plans for September since I have a break coming up, I'm currently working on more smut (I can't help it I'm sorry, I have 3-4 in total that I'm working on right now) and I might upload a bonus chapter to 12am because I love angst :)
