After the tour, we sat in one of the empty conference rooms together. It felt like it's only been five minutes. Mr. Musk is such an interesting man. I looked down at my watch and realized it was almost 7 o' clock.
"Your shift is almost over." he said.
"Yea, I really enjoyed the tour though. Thank you..."
"You're welcome..."
We say in silence for a couple of minutes before Mr. Musk spoke again.
"Would you like to come back to my house sometime for dinner?"
I froze. Elon... just asked me... to dinner...
"Yes." I said quietly, yet happily.
"How about next Friday?"
"Sounds good." I blushed.
We walked back to the elevators.
"Are you still scared?" he asked me.
"No."
It wasn't a lie this time. I had him there with me. Everything would be ok. We went into the elevator, and even though I still held on to the railings, I wasn't afraid anymore. He walked me to my car.
"You did a good job today. I didn't see you stop writing once." he said jokingly.
"Thank you, Mr. Musk."
We looked into each other's eyes, this time I broke the silence.
"Thank you again for the tour, I'll see you tomorrow." I smiled at him.
"Yea. Goodbye."
He opened the car door for me and I went inside. He waved goodbye to me until we could no longer see each other. Thank goodness he couldn't see me, I couldn't help but squeal with excitement.
'He said I did good today! Not only did he say I did a good job, but he invited me to dinner with him!'
I drove home as fast as I could, which resulted in me getting a speeding ticket. As the police officer scolded me, I couldn't help but think of Mr. Musk. The way he looked at me... I was on cloud nine.
I drove back home much slower this time, but I was still ecstatic. When I arrived to my apartment I told my dog all about it. I was so pleased with myself. I called my high school friends again, and they still didn't care.
Elon. Musk. I got an invitation to dinner from Elon Musk.
