I felt numb and confused. Since when did he become a detective? Would he recognize me? Is he going to bring me back to prison? A million questions rushed through my mind, but they would be answered anyway.

His gaze went from the files to me. It took him a few seconds to remember me. He had this confused look, figuring out if it was really me or not. It took him a second before knowing he was right.

"Is it really you?" he asked me, with a rather shaky voice

"Is it really you?" he asked me, with a rather shaky voice. He was shocked, but he did his best not to show it.
"I don't know, what does that file say?" I said sarcastically, "Why are you asking me when you already know the answer, Liam?"

He didn't like the way I answered him at all, he clenched his jaw and started to look mad. He stepped towards the table and sat on is chair, facing me.
"So you wanna play this game like this? Go ahead, I'll play along".

I didn't speak. He knows nothing and I want to keep it that way. The only thing he knows is that I am the one who helped all the others escape, but I'm sure he wants to know how and why I did it. I decided to stay silent, he would leave sooner or later. There's no way he will stay here every day until I talk.

"You know staying silent isn't gonna help, you're gonna talk sooner or later. I've got all the time in the world, so make it easier for yourself. Just tell me how you did it and you will be leaving the police station in no time." he said while leaning back in his chair.
I gave him a death glare before saying: "Yeah right, leaving this place in a prisoner transport vehicle back to WP... Not happening." I said with slight irritation, there's no way I'm going back to jail. They can't keep me locked up forever, they're no match for me, nor for the others who escaped. They wouldn't even stand a chance. We are gifted, after all.

Liam looked worried, it was like he wanted to help. "What happened to you?" he asked me. Right, he wasn't there when it all happened. I guess people told him different stories about how I got caught.
"My parents turned me in. That's what happened. You wanna know the real story? I hope you sit comfortable because this is gonna take a while". The thought of this day made me angry. I really didn't wanna talk about it, but it's too late now.

"It all happened 8 years ago. I was at a pool party, my pool party. I turned 16 that day so I invited all of my friends to my place. Everything was great, my friends and I had a good time. Until I had an argument with my best friend, Chelsea. She said some mean things to me which made me pissed of course.

Now long story short, I pushed her in the pool. Not long after that, the pool started to feel cold. People wanted to get out because the water became too cold to handle. When I touched the water, to feel the temperature, the whole pool froze in an instant. It became solid ice. Of course everyone was afraid, we knew that there were people who gained powers like this. They were transported to the local prison because they are a threat. I never thought I would become one of them, so I was terrified. My parents heard what happened so they rushed outside. I ran towards them, I wanted them to tell me it's gonna be okay. But instead they backed away. My mom ran back inside and came back minutes later. In the meantime, all my friends were gone. I wanted my parents to comfort me, but they didn't. Ten minutes later, I saw police officers coming inside. I wanted to run but they were everywhere, the whole house was surrounded. I begged my parents to help me but they didn't even look at me. My parents always loved my, gave me love and affection. And in just one second all of that vanished. The cops took me with them, gave me new clothes and put me in a prisoner transport vehicle."
