Ariana's performance of "God is A Woman" at the 2018 VMAs shocked many. At the end of her performance, her grandmother, mother, and cousin joined her on stage as she took a bow.

Once she was seated back in the audience next to Pete, Ariana was squinting her eyes a lot as she strained to see clearly. She didn't have her contacts in, or any glasses with her. After Nicki was called up on stage for winning an award, Ariana helped her with her dress so she wouldn't trip over it as she went on stage to accept the award.

Ariana was suprised when her name was called out and a cheer erupted from the audience all around her. She smiled, gave Pete a quick hug and kiss as he congratulated her and made her way on stage. This was her second time being awarded at the VMAs.

"No Tears Left To Cry" won Best Pop Video. Ariana held the award as she gave a quick little speech while smiling the whole time: "First of all, to my fans I love you guys so much... My friends on the internet, I love you, you're the funniest most supportive people, I love you so much, thank you for all your dedication and for showing me so much love. And Sweetener... thank you for receiving it so warmly. Thank you Republic, thank you Scooter, thank you Rashad my tour manager slash dad, I love you, thank you to my family who's here today, my friends, and everyone, I love you. Pete Davidson. Thanks for existing. Love you."

All alone at home, Ariana was sitting in the living room watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix when an incoming facetime call came from Selena. She was suprised, but accepted it.

"Oh my God, Ariana! Your performance was amazing! I just watched it on youtube," Selena gushed as she looked to be laying in bed, "Congratulations!"

"Thank you! I was so nervous. My stomach was in knots," Ariana giggled, "Haven't heard from you in awhile. How have you been?"

"I've been good. Took a little break off with my friends. Went on a little vacation, got tiny little matching tattoos. Nothing too exciting," Selena shrugged while playing with her hair, "How's the engagement life treating you, huh? That's so crazy!"

"I know. I know," Ariana bit back a smile, "It still doesn't feel real. I'm just excited and happy. We get along so well. My mom and Nonna are over the moon. They're always calling me up with some wedding planning stuff."

"That's sweet. I wanted to say congratulations with everything, we haven't talked in awhile, and God is A Woman is amazing! I hear it all over the radio! The music video was so fucking good. You looked so good girl," Selena adjusted her phone around as the connection wasn't the strongest.

"Thank you. Thank you so much. When are we going to get some new music from Selena Gomez, huh? I know, there's a lot of people waiting! I'd love to hear it," Ariana turned down the tv volume as Grey's Anatomy's theme song played loudly.

"It's complicated. I feel so pressured to come out with this great album. I wanna do it on my own terms," Selena sighed, "Besides, I'm back in LA, for a collab with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Cardi B. I'm excited. They're finishing it all up in the studio and then planning the music video soon."

"I'm sure it'll be a hit. Not too many diverse songs on the radio nowadays. Everything sounds the same lately... like it blends in together," Ariana said and Selena hummed in agreement.

"Well, it was nice catching up. I'm gonna get to bed because I'm dead tired and I know you are. You look like you're gonna fall asleep any second," Selena smirked, "Seriously, we need to meet up forreal. It's been forever. When you come to LA, or if I'm in NY, we're gonna do something together."

"Yeah. For sure," Ariana exchanged her goodbyes and ended the call.

Ariana yawned as she laid down on the couch as stared at the tv. She knew, she'd be sleeping in a matter of minutes as her eyes felt heavy. Selena was right.
