This was a mistake.

That thought briefly crossed Selena's mind as she stared at the suprised expression on Ariana's face. She was excited to see her, but didn't know how Ariana would react to finding her on her doorstep. After all, she hadn't called... and this was a mistake. She wanted to run and hide as Ariana's words were jumbled together in a quick breath, "Selena? Hey? How are you?"

"Um... I was around... know what? You're busy," Selena awkwardly laughed, absentmindedly pointing behind her, "I should go. I'm gonna go."

"Wait," Ariana called after her, "Sorry. I'm just suprised to see you. It's been too long since..."

"Coachella." Selena nodded.

"Coachella," Ariana nodded as well, "It's just me and all the dogs here. We'd love the company."

"Thanks." Selena accepted the invite and tried to ignore all the awkwardness she was feeling as she stepped inside Ariana's Florida home.

A sea of dogs surrounded her. They barked at the stranger with tails waging and curious noses as they took in Selena's foreign scent.

"Hope you don't mind them." Ariana commented.

"Not at all." Selena smiled at the pups, greeting them, as they seemed to calm her nerves.

"Can I get you anything?" Ariana asked as she stepped forward, a few dogs following behind her, as Selena followed, "Um, no thank you, I'm okay."

They walked into the living room where Catfish: The TV Show was playing on the tv and Ariana sheepishly grinned as she shrugged, "I've been obsessed recently. Some of the people on this show are crazy."

"I haven't watched it since, like, season one." Selena revealed.

They sat down next to each other on the couch as the dogs' excitement over a guest seemed to wear off as they laid down on their dog beds and roamed around the rest of the house. Ariana had a bottle of water by her side as she ran her hands through her short natural hair.

"How has the tour life been?" Selena started up the conversation as she figured out a way to apologize about storming off at coachella.

"Busy, but rewarding. I've been doing that and a few other things. I can't believe I've been touring for longer than a month now," Her eyes lit up as she talked about performing, "What've you been up to?"

"Promoting the new movie-"

"Congratulations!"

"Thank you," Selena blushed, "Press for the movie and shooting with Puma. The usual."

"What about the album?"

"Almost finished... after, like, four years," Selena shrugged, "I'm feeling good about it."

"Will you let me listen to a snippet of it?" Ariana was hopeful as Selena answered, "Of course."

"Ariana," Selena sighed as she looked down at her hands while talking, "I wanted to apologize for leaving at the second show... at coachella. I just... I heard about Justin performing and I didn't want all the unwanted attention that would come with that. Both of us being seen at the same place, y'know? It would stir up a whole bunch of pointless drama. The media, the fans, everywhere would make into this huge thing..."

"You don't have to apologize. I understand."

"But, I do. I do because I promised to be there and see you, but I left. I should've texted you, or tried to tell you, but it got to me. It annoyed me. I don't know. It's- it's stupid."
