You were born with clear skin, in fact, most people are. It's extremely rare for someone to have a tattoo when they're young; many people don't find the things they're passionate about until they're a bit older.
The first tattoo showed up on your skin when you were 13: a simple, all black tattoo in the shape of a paw print. Okay, you thought to yourself. My soulmate loves animals. Your 13 year old self was proud of the small tattoo that decorated the inside of your left wrist and you insisted on wearing only short-sleeved t-shirts to show it off. Never mind that it was winter. In your mind, you were already planning which pets you and your soulmate would adopt together.
When you were a little older, your second tattoo appeared. At first, you weren't sure how long it had been there. You were 16, getting ready for homecoming in your bedroom. You probably wouldn't have ever noticed the tattoo had you not put on a strapless, form-fitting dress.
"Y/N, when did you get that tattoo?" Your best friend looked at you curiously, her face scrunching up as she stared at your back.
"What?" You frowned a little, instantly hopping to your feet and standing in front of your full-length mirror. You grab your hair, throwing it in a super messy bun as you turn around, looking at the back of your right shoulder in awe.
The tattoo was again small and black, but for some reason, this one made your stomach flutter with joy. On your shoulder was a simple sketch of a bow and arrow; never in your life had you met someone who loved archery.
"Huh, guess my soulmate is an archer?"
"Lucky," your best friend sighed as she threw herself backwards on your bed. "Wish I could end up with Katniss."

You went years without meeting your soulmate, not that it mattered much to you. You've always been very focused and driven, paying much more attention to working towards your career than chasing after some random stranger. That mentality got you through college where you studied law enforcement with an emphasis in counter-terrorism. Eventually and inevitably, you began to work for the government, specifically in a branch of law enforcement called S.H.I.E.L.D.
Now, two years into working for S.H.I.E.L.D., you still love your job. Except for days like today where you are forced by Director Nick Fury to track down the people that refuse to do their paperwork. Like billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, genius and Avenger Tony Stark.
So here you are, stack of papers in hand, pacing outside of Stark's office checking the time on your phone every so often. What could possibly be taking him so long?
"Agent Y/L/N?" Your friend and many time co-worker Pepper Potts breathes out in exasperation as she opens the door to the office. "Oh, thank god you're here Y/N. Hopefully you can talk some sense into him, I've been trying for hours."
"No worries, Pep," you place a reassuring hand on her shoulder, giving it a squeeze as you walk past her. "He doesn't have much of a choice."
You had never had the pleasure of meeting Tony Stark, before today that is. But as he spins around in his chair wearing a signature careless smirk and a dressy button-down top with a blazer, a headache instantly forms in your temple.
