You love living in the Avengers tower, really, it's great. There never seems to be a dull moment when you're surrounded by a bunch of adult superheroes well, and Tony Stark who is a child at heart; there's always something going on.

Except on days when you need a little peace and quiet or just a little time to yourself to think. No one in the tower has any sense of boundaries, personal space or alone time— none at all. Even when you're alone in your bedroom someone finds a way to bother you whether it's Clint squawking at you from the vents or being woken up by Thor's arrivals from Asgard.. something is always getting in the way.

You don't mean to stumble upon the not-so-secret room on the second floor down the end of the hallway but you're desperate for any space that holds just a tiny bit of privacy. When you twist on the door knob the room is surprisingly unlocked and JARVIS doesn't give any objections to your intruding as you walk in. It's not very big— four plain white walls, hardwood floor, a rather large wooden desk with drawers, a closet, a small couch and a coffee table sitting on a navy rug— but it feels homey, private even. The natural light filters in through two windows that serve as doors leading out to a balcony and you're confused as to why you didn't know this room existed earlier. It's perfect.

"JARVIS, whose room is this?" You wonder out loud, taking in the warm room happily.

"Captain Rogers' room, Miss Y/L/N," the loyal AI responds and you unconsciously frown.

"Why didn't I know about it?"

"Captain Rogers finds comfort in his privacy, Miss Y/L/N. Sir had this room built specifically for him."

At that, you have to smile a little. Even though Steve and Tony go at each other like they're mortal enemies, you've never seen two people who admire and respect each other more.

"But why-" you start to ask again but are stopped by another voice, one that doesn't belong to the snarky British AI.

"I use it to draw."

You spin around so fast that the whole room blurs, your face instantly darkening three shades when you see Steve leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. In a fitted white t-shirt and jeans, he's so not helping the blush on your cheeks.

"I-I'm sorry for barging in," you stammer, your expression completely guilt-ridden. "It's just that the door was open and then the room was so breathtaking and I can never get any god damn peace and quiet in this tower! And of course I love it and everyone else but it's like everywhere I go there's someone to talk to or a movie to watch or dinner to make and I just needed one minute to- to-"

"To breathe?" Steve raises an eyebrow in amusement, blue eyes sparkling in the natural light of the room.

"Yes," you sigh as you catch your breath after that mini-rant. "I just needed to breathe."

He stands there looking at you for one long moment and you're surprised that he doesn't seem mad.

"I like to draw," he repeats simply as he pushes himself off the wall and heads further into the room.
