A/N: so i was thinking to myself: should i write anything for new years? i worked today and my friends are out of town so why the hell not?? it is currently 9:20pm in IL and i just watched shawn mendes perform on tv life is good so here you go

also i worked super hard on this so feel free to drop some comments about literally anything HAH

Description: new years one shots for each character ?? y'all owe me ;)

Word count: altogether this is literally like 6200 words which is insane and i'm not sure how long each one shot is individually but i'm guessing they're each 700-800 words

~ Tony Stark (i kind of had the song new year's day by t swift in mind while writing this one) ~

You know your boyfriend is the king of parties. Uh, duh. Everyone knows that. But there's something about New Years that makes him go a little crazy and by a little, you mean a lot. This year, Avengers Tower is reduced to waterfalls of sparkling lights, champagne and upbeat party music. You know first hand how a Tony Stark party goes; after all, you were present last New Years as a guest of the host's ex-girlfriend, though now that seems a little awkward.

But this year is different. Instead of random strangers in Tony's house— friends of friends and friends of their friends— you're surrounded by people you know and love. There are the other Avengers and a few of their significant others, Happy, Rhodey, Pepper and her new boyfriend, and other familiar faces from SI. It's intimate and comfortable and though Tony isn't with you at this exact moment, every time you find him in the crowd he has a wonderful smile on his handsome face.

You helped him plan the party down to the floor plan and the glitter. Polaroid pictures already scatter the floor and you smile softly to yourself as you see Tony's face in most of them. When you asked him why he wanted to have polaroids taken at the party out of everything else he could have he said something along the lines of "this year of my life has been better than any other and I want to start the next one surrounded by images of the people who made it great." Who knew the billionaire was such a softie?

"Hey, babe," a husky voice mumbles in your ear as a pair of strong arms pull you against a warm chest. Tony's scruff brushes your cheek as he places a kiss there.

"Hi," you smile softly, turning around so you can look into his soft brown eyes. "Enjoying the party?"

"I am," he nods and you can tell he means it— all the stress and worry that usually plagues him seems nonexistent tonight. "You seem lost in thought. Thinking about what happens during the after party?" He smirks and wiggles his eyebrows suggestively making you roll your eyes and push against his chest teasingly.

"No," you laugh and take a small sip of your champagne. "I was just thinking about how different things were on this exact day last year."

He seems to know exactly what you mean as his eyes darken slightly before regaining their happiness again.

"Yeah, but things aren't the same now," he shrugs carelessly. "I'm here with you and, if I'm being honest, the party isn't what I care about tonight."

"What?" You furrow your eyebrows in confusion. "It isn't?"

"No, sweetheart. You are." He removes a hand from behind his back only to expose a beautiful white rose. "I don't care about the lights or the music or the glitter. I care about what we'll be doing tomorrow and months after that. I care about the memories we'll be making next year and the many to come."
