Yes I know it's December 26th, but I was busy Christmas-ing yesterday (LOL) so I didn't get a chance to publish it. I hope you like it still!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I hope you all had a very special holi-yay with whoever you're spending it with. * throws up fake snow *

Holi-yay special is about the very odd absence of winter holidays in books. This isn't so much a common cliche, but something I've noticed.

I always thought Christmas in romance novels was adorable.

Why don't author's use winter holidays?

I get it if you don't celebrate any winter holidays. (oOf)

But they're still fun to use (for filler usually)!

The last notable teen fiction/romance Christmas I saw was Christmas in How to Punch Soren Mckinin (I mention this book a lot) and the Christmas of Silence Breaking (Storm and Silence).

I always thought it would be adorable if someone did an epilogue to a romance novel using Christmas with the main couple's kids and the rest of the (hopefully) memorable cast having a great time.

Miriam snuggled up to Callum next to the gentle fire. The cold evening blew chills outside, but luckily the house was warm and had hot cocoa. Callum mindlessly stroked Miriam gently while holding her close. All the light they needed came from the Christmas tree and the fire. A giggle broke the silence as Eliana, the couple's child, wandered into the living room.

"We made cookies!" Eliana grinned, and her parents could see the icing smudges on her cheeks. Vincent, Callum's best friend, and the "weird uncle", turned the corner holding a plate of cookies.

"She iced them." He said. Eliana tried grabbing the cookies from him.

"Mommy and Daddy have to try them!"

"Ellie, those cookies are for Santa." Vincent grinned. "He's coming tonight remember?"

"He's going to give you presents!" Miriam exclaimed.

"PRESENTS!" Eliana shrieked.

"That's not everything about Christmas princess." Callum smiled. "It's also about friends and family."

"Then why did you get mommy so many presents?"

Callum's face turned red as Vincent snorted at the little girl's antics.

"Well, sometimes you just wanna buy stuff for someone. Even if that someone is yourself." Callum said sheepishly. Miriam kissed his cheek, earning a face from Eliana.

"It's okay honey, mommy doesn't mind."

Vincent glanced at the clock.

"It's nine, time for bed Ellie." Vincent placed the cookies next to a champagne bottle.

Eliana was about to protest when she yawned.

"I'll get her ready," said Miriam. She got up and hoisted Eliana into her arms.

The men grinned at each other and took some eggnog from the fridge. Vincent reached for some rum from the liquor cabinet and shot a wink towards Callum.

Miriam came down the stairs and was handed a glass of spiked eggnog.

"Remember our first Christmas together?" Callum asked Miriam as they both slumped down onto the couch. Vincent was fast asleep on the floor by the fire.

"You were so smooth," Miriam recalled. "I didn't want to kiss in front of our families but you and your goddamn mistletoe..."

"That slap was totally worth it." Callum touched his left cheek.

"My mother was furious."

"Ah yes, she doesn't like me," Callum muttered.

"You did eventually take me on a beach vacation over my parent's hand-holding anniversary."

"Is that even a thing?"

"Probably not."

"Then the New Years we had sex..."

"Don't mention that!"

"Why not?"

Miriam paused.

"It almost turned into a foursome!"

"True."

"I remember the gang Christmas when you had your gang come over for the holidays."

"Oh, lord..."

The two continued to reminisce about the winters of years past.

Callum chuckled and kissed Miriam's lips.

"No regrets love. I'd do it all again."
