For some very strange reason, people don't tell their loved ones things most people would definitely tell their loved ones.

Eden sat on her bed flicking through Instagram. The door opened with a creak, startling Eden. It was only her mother.

"Hi, mom." Eden smiled. Eden's mother was Eden's only mentor. Their father had left many many years ago.

Another man followed her mother in. He looked about the same age as her mother.

"Eden." Her mother took a breath. "This is Carter, and we're engaged."

"wHAT!?" Eden screeched. "You got engaged!? How long has this been a thing? Why didn't you tell me! I've never seen this guy in my life!"

"I thought you would hate me."

"MOM! FOR YEARS I HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU TO TRY GOING OUT! OF COURSE I'M HAPPY FOR YOU, but why didn't you trust me?"

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine. Fine!"

. . .

Solaria was suddenly shaken awake.

"Sol, wake up!" Hayden was shaking her awake. "We have to leave."

"Huh?"

Solaria got up and watched Hayden yell down the hall something in Greek, using his Alpha tone.

"I can't explain. Get dressed. Your bags are packed."

Solaria quickly threw on a sweatshirt and some shorts when Hayden hastily picked her up.

"Hayden what are you-"

"I'll explain on the plane."

Hayden sprinted towards a private jet with the Pack of Greece's crest on it. He plopped Solaria into a seat and sat next to her.

"Now can you tell me what's going on?"

"You're the daughter of the King of Rogues and it's finally time that he decided he wants his kid back so he sent his rogue warriors to get you."

"How long have you known this?"

"Since we met. I knew the rogues would eventually come too."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Solaria demanded.

"To protect you," Hayden answered simply.

"How the fuck is that protecting me?"

"uh..."

That's a thing!

How to avoid?: You can keep secrets if it's part of a character's flaws but for the most part, make sure that relationships between characters (not always <3) are h o n e s t.
