"What the fuck am I missing?"
Savannah canvased the entire room as she looked for whatever she sensed was out of place. The event was in less than 24 hours and she felt her stomach twist in knots. Her anxiety had her veins pumping blood much faster than normal, nausea causing her appetite to diminish completely.
"Savannah, everything is perfect. You need to relax boo" Kamyah said as she placed her clipboard on one of the tables
"Gift bags for VIPs?" Savannah asked
"Done" Kamyah said glancing at her checklist
"Signage?" Savannah asked
"Printed and will be put up tomorrow after closing" Kamyah said
"DJ?" Savannah asked
"Playlist done. I got this love. You know I'm the shit at this event planning" Kamyah reassured her
"I know. Sorry if it seems like I'm doubting you" Savannah said
"No, I know this is your head zooming 100 miles per hour. I got you though. This is your big night and I'll be damned if it goes under. Besides, my name is on this shit too" Kamyah joked
Rolling her eyes playfully, she took a seat in one of the booths while Kamyah walked over to Garrett as he sat with her with his contracts. Seeing the two of them flirting and giggling, it somewhat made her miss being in a relationship. While she was enjoying her solitude, she'd be lying if she said she didn't miss waking up to someone next to her or spooning her to sleep. Corey was a breath of fresh air, something new and exciting, but his constant six to eight months of being on the road wasn't something she wanted to worry herself with. Then there was Trey, someone she had grown accustomed to. She knew she always had a home with him, and sharing the responsibility of two daughters gave him an advantage.
Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone ringing from her an incoming call from Trey. Taking as she thought him up, she accepted the call, turning on her Bluetooth headphones and leaning back in her seat.
"Hey" she answered
"Sup, you busy?" he asked
"I'm at the restaurant going over details with Kam and Garrett. Wassup?" she asked
"Oh, I was making sure you were okay. I know you've been freaking out and how your anxiety gets so I wanted to check on you" he said
"Aww, thanks. I'm...okay" she said
"That was real convincing" he sarcastically spoke
"It's just jitters. Your mom get in yet?" she asked
"Yea, she took over the girls so I was chillin in the studio. I was actually headed into the city for a minute. Mind if I stop by?" he asked
"Coming into the city for what?" she asked
"Hungry" he replied
Twisting her lips, she knew he was lying, looking for an excuse to come bother her while he had a free night.
"Hungry for what?" she asked
"Not sure. You got any food at the crib?" he asked
"Not for you" she said
"You so mean to me. First you talk about my pot roast, now you won't feed a n.igga either? Where does it end Savannah?" he asked jokingly
"Ask your mama to cook" she said
"I'm already in the city now. I'll be at the crib waiting. Bring something home" he said
"Excuse you! Don't go to my condo Tremaine" she said
