"Why did you have to be a January baby Kam?" Savannah asked as she scrolled through websites searching for clothes for the upcoming trip

"Blame my parents for starting their summer off with a bang, literally" Kamyah said

The end of the year was nearing, and many holidays were coming up fast. It was the girls' first Christmas in a sense. Aubree was nearly six months old and thriving, while Zoe's second birthday was closely approaching. The next birthday however, she had to face was the one she felt no desire to go all out for anymore. With him going public with Ashley a few weeks back, she was reminded that this was indeed the real thing and needed to do her best to separate her feelings. Unfollowing him on Instagram was the first step. Seeing the images and videos of them together wasn't sitting well on her stomach, but from what others had told them, he didn't seem happy.

"Ugh, I hate that she's pretty. They just look so forced" Kamyah said scrolling her phone

"Hmm, because it is. However, if I say that, I sound bitter. I know that man, he's not happy with her" Savannah said shrugging her shoulders

"Well, duh! You should've saw them at that Atlantic social. Then asked me, of all people, to go on a double date with them. Savannah..." Kamyah said cutting her eyes at Savannah who dropped her jaw, letting out a small laugh as she continued to shop

"No she didn't Kam. She knows you're my best friend, right?" Savannah asked

"Of course she does. Anyone who knows us, knows we're closer than two ass cheeks. Trey just looked down at her like, "Bitch, are you crazy?" I laughed and said I don't do double dates" Kamyah shook her head

"Pathetic. She's trying so hard to be your friend, give her a chance Kam" Savannah giggled

"The only chance I'll give her is the rapper, okuuurt!" Kamyah said sucking her teeth

"You're a mess. Hmm, wonder if he broke the news about Barbados yet?" Savannah thought aloud

"He hasn't. I asked. This nigga gonna tell her the day before we leave, watch. Oh yea, I checked and the bedroom has two separate beds, but you two are gonna share a bathroom" Kamyah said

"Ugh, this sucks" Savannah said

Knowing she would have to spend five days with him in close quarters wasn't sitting well with her. Since the big announcement, their conversations were strictly about the girls, when they were trading them off, and per her request, she asked to not interact with Ashley if possible. After their sit down, she didn't like the way she came off to her. It was as if she was putting all of the guilt on Savannah for pushing up on Trey, when in reality it was him who wouldn't leave her be.

"Look, he knows better. He really doesn't wanna try you on an island in a house where everyone knows what he's done to you. I'm surprised he still wants to come to be honest" Kamyah said

"Because of me. It's his excuse to force us to communicate about anything other than the kids. I know how his mind operates by now. Everything is a motive" Savannah said

"Ugh, then I'm sorry. What is Ashley here for then? To make you jealous? To keep his dick wet? Kill time until you and Corey stop talking? Speaking of, what's going on with you two?" Kamyah asked

Savannah and Corey's communication was still just as fuzzy as when the season started. Although he made an effort to call, text, or FaceTime her, she could tell he was growing tired. With the end of the season close, and their number one division spot, it was inevitable they were going to the playoffs. This only meant a prolonged season and less communication.
