5 minutes later
Hannah parked right outside Monet's and saw Clay parking his bike and taking off his helmet. She honked the horn and Clay dropped the helmet and turned around. Hannah burst out laughing and waved at him and got out of the car. Clay rolled his eyes when he saw her.
"Oh, its you," he said in a fake disappointed tone. Hannah laughed and bent down to pick up his helmet.
"Here's your helmet, Helmet," she said as she handed it to him.
"Oh, is that my nickname now?", Clay asked playfully as he took the helmet back from the girl.
"Definitely," she replied with a smile. Clay strapped the helmet around the handlebars of his bike and they headed into Monet's.
"What drink do you want?," Clay asked Hannah when they found a table.
"A hot chocolate with marshmallows, please. Can I pay?"
"Don't worry, its on me."
Hannah knew from experience that there was no point arguing with someone who offers to pay, so she gave him a smile and Clay went up to order.
"Hey, Clay," the girl behind the counter said.
"Hey, Skye. Can I have 2 hot chocolates with marshmallows, please."
Skye looked over Clay's shoulder at Hannah and back at him.
"Who's the chick, I've never seen her around," she asked coldly.
"That's Hannah, I met her today when I started work at the Crestmont. Want me to introduce you to her?", he replied sternly.
"I'd rather gouge my eyeballs out," Skye said with a scoff.
"Just get us the drinks, Skye."
Skye rolled her eyes and turned around to pour out the drinks. When he got them, Hannah's one had no marshmallows.
"$4 please."
"Where's the marshmallows on Hannah's one?"
Skye turned around, picked up a single marshmallow and almost threw it in. Clay rolled his eyes, paid for the drinks and walked back to Hannah.
"Who was that?", Hannah asked as Clay handed her the hot chocolate with 4 marshmallows.
"Just an old friend, doesn't matter," he replied as he and Skye shared one last glare.
"Oh, OK," Hannah replied with a smile as they began their drinks and conversation. After a few minutes, a boy who looked like a junior came in.
"Hey, Jensen!", he said as he patted him on the back. He then turned his attention to Hannah and looked her up and down.
"Damn, Jensen, looks like you swung the other way," he whispered in Clay's ear.
"Bryce, don't you have your baseball practice to be at or your lunch to be at?", Clay shot back annoyed. Bryce chuckled.
"I'm meeting up with a hot girl, I'm gonna try to fuck her today."
Hannah looked horrified as she saw this unfold. She knew immediately that Bryce was bad news.
"How long do you know her? 2 days?", Clay asked, silently begging for him to leave, as he had noticed Hannah's expression.
"How long do you know Ms Sexypants here?", Bryce said smugly, gesturing towards Hannah as tears began streaming down her face.
