Hannah and Jessica broke away from each other after a while and they looked at each other. Hannah took a breath and held Blue close.
"What are you thinking, Han?", Jessica asked, stroking the back of her head.
"I'm going to come out to mom and dad.", Hannah said, looking up at Jessica.
Jessica bit her lip and looked at her friend.
"Do you need any advice? I'm out to my parents. And believe me, it wasn't easy. It takes a bit of time to plan out. I took my parents for a swim and I sat them down when we were changed back into our normal clothes. There was tears, and hugs, and support. Its your coming out story though, you do it your way. If you need anything, not just with the coming out but in general, I'm here 24/7.", Jessica said to her softly.
Hannah nodded her head.
"Thanks, Jess."
2 weeks later
Hannah had thought a lot about how and when she was going to come out to her parents, and she had decided that she was going to tell them on a walk with Blue. She had been walking him every day, and it was helping her cope with Alex's death. They had all attended the funeral, where everyone cried and many classmates gave speeches. The school had been shut down for 2 weeks, and everyone was in shock.
One day, as she attached the leash onto Blue's collar, she felt the feeling in her gut. It was today she had to do it. She looked at the time and saw that it was 2 o clock, when her parents closed the shop for an hour for her lunch break. Jessica and Clay had been going on the walks with her, but today, she told them to stay home for today. They immediately knew what was going on, as it was all Hannah had been talking about.
Jessica came over to her and hugged her.
"You got this, Han. Remember, no matter the outcome, we love you.", she said to her, and Clay hugged her as well.
Jessica bent down and rubbed the back of Blue's ears.
"Kill it, kid.", Clay said to her, breaking away from the hug.
"I love you guys so much.", Hannah said as she headed out the door.
She walked over to her parents shop. She normally drove there but not today. They were leaving the shop and locking the door when Hannah walked up to them.
"Hey, guys!", she greeted cheerily, though nervous.
"Hannah! What a lovely surprise! Hi there, Blue!", her mother greeted.
"Yeah, guys, can we go for a walk?", Hannah asked nervously, looking at the ground.
"Of course, sweetie.", her mother said.
They walked for a few minutes in silence. When they reached the park, Hannah sat down at the bench, and tightened the leash around her hand. Her parents sat down with her.
"Hannah, are you OK?", her dad asked.
Hannah sighed.
"There's something I have to tell you guys. Please don't freak out, or kick me out, or disown me or anything bad.", she said, almost bursting her hand with the leash.
"We'd never do that, Hannah. What's so bad that you think we'd do that?", her mother said.
Hannah chuckled nervously.
"Well its not bad exactly, it depends on how you view it.", she said.
"Go on, Hannah. What is it? Are you pregnant?", her dad asked.
