Clay went up to the door and knocked gently.
No reply.
He knocked again.
No reply.
He knocked a few more times, and after a minute, Hannah arrived at the door with a tearstained face.
"Oh, hey, Helmet.", she said with a fake smile.
"Hannah, what's wrong?", Clay asked, worriedly.
"I'll explain when we're inside."
When they were both inside, they sat at the kitchen table. Hannah then began explaining.
"Its Aunt Leah's anniversary today.", she simply said.
"I'm sorry, Han.", Clay said sincerely and put his hand on hers, before awkwardly pulling it away, remembering they weren't a thing. Hannah laughed genuinely at this.
"You're a funny one, Helmet.", she said to him before asking, "I'm going to see her later after our music session. Do you want to come with me?"
"Of course I will, if you don't mind."
Hannah smiled at this, and said, "Thanks, Clay."
"Oh, just before I forget, I hear its someone's birthday today, someone who goes by the name Hannah, so I got a little something for this secret girl.", Clay said in a British accent.
Hannah laughed at this. "Aww, you didn't have to, Helmet."
"Oh, I did too.", Clay said as he reached into his backpack and pulled out the present with the taped on card. He handed it to Hannah, who was still smiling at him.
"Happy birthday, Hannah.", he said as she started unwrapping the gift.
"Oh my God, Helmet. I love it.", she said as she held the songbook in her hands. "Thanks so much, Clay", she whispered as she gave him a hug.
When they pulled away, they were only inches away from each others faces. Hannah started to slowly move in, as did Clay. Their lips brushed off each others, then they heard someone knocking on the door.
The two, annoyed as much as they didn't want to admit it, went to get the door.
There was a bleached haired boy on the doorstep, and alongside him was the girl they met a week ago, Jessica.
"Hey, Jess.", Hannah greeted her.
"Hi, Hannah and Clay. This is Alex Standall. He just moved to town as well and we met each other at Monet's. Want to come with us?", Jessica asked them, introducing the boy.
"Hi, Alex. We'd love to go with you but we're in the middle of something. Maybe we'll talk on Monday at school?", Hannah replied.
"Yeah, we'll see you then. Have a nice weekend."
"Thanks, you too."
After Hannah shut the door, she went back to the kitchen and picked up the book and they headed into the music room to learn how to play the song.
When they had played for around 2 hours, Hannah looked up at the time. It was half 4.
"We best get going now, we only have an hour and a half left together before my parents are home for dinner.", she told Clay as she got up from the stool and Clay put the guitar back on the stand. He nodded his head and they went out the door.
They both sat into the car, and before they left, Hannah took out the CD that was in the stereo and got another one. A Head Full Of Dreams by Coldplay.
