Nineteen - Impression

"Carrie? Hey, Carrie," Kyle called out to her when he noticed that she has stopped walking.

He fetched her from Sapphire Hall's lobby and guided her to the mini garden's pick-up and drop-off area where the car his father sent for them was waiting.

Nakatayo lang doon si Carrie at hindi gumagalaw. Nanlalaki ang mga mata nito at nakatitig lang sa sasakyan.

"Carrie," he called out again. This time it seemed that she has finally heard him.

"I-iyan ang s-sasakyan natin?" she said while pointing at the black limousine in front of them.

"Yes," he simply said.

"Good morning po, Sir Kyle," greeted Efren, their chauffeur. He then opened the car door for them.

"Good morning din, Kuya Efren. Si Papa? Nakauwi na ba?"

"Nasa Australia pa po. Mamayang gabi pa po ang uwi niya."

"I see," he said and turned to Carrie who was still standing there. "Carrie, come on in."

Nag-aalangang lumapit ito sa kanya at sinilip ang loob ng sasakyan. Hindi niya napigilang mapangiti. She looked amazed.

"Wow. Ang ganda sa loob. Parang bahay," sabi nito na tila kumikinang ang mga mata.

"Tara na," sabi niya dito.

Papasok na sana si Carrie sa loob nang may biglang tumawag sa pangalan nito. Napalingon sila at nakita ang mga roommates nito.

Patakbong lumapit si Ali kay Carrie at niyakap ito.

"Rii! I can't believe this. You're going with him," sabi nito at tinitigan si Kyle ng masama. "You better take care of her or else, I'll have you thrown to the Bermuda Triangle a.k.a... ano nga ba ang tawag mo do'n Rii?"

"The Sea of Monsters?" Carrie responded.

"Yes. That one, and have you killed by those vicious monsters found in those books Rii was reading. Ahh, bakit ba kasi hindi tayo ang magkapareha sa Physics project? I hate you, Kyle. You're snatching my doll away from me."

"Love you, too, Pres. We better get going. Don't worry, I'll take care of her," nasabi na lang niya dito.

"I don't trust you. Knowing you, baka hindi mo na siya ibalik. Rii, call us if this wolf is doing something awful to you, okay?"

"Ali, I'll be fine. Uuwi rin ako kaagad. Bye girls!" said Carrie and bid farewell to her friends before going inside the car.

Nang makapasok ito sa loob ay binalingan siya ni Ali.

"Don't get close to her too much. She might faint."

"H-ha? Why?"

"Hayyy. It's useless talking to dense people. Anyway, you better take care of her," then she looked at him again with the same murdering look she had before. He gulped and nodded obediently.

"I think you must go now," she said after. "Masyado ng madaming nakikiusisa. Bye-bye."

Tama nga ito. Ang daming mga estudyante na ang nakapalibot sa kanila.

"Sige. Bye, Pres. Bye, everyone," he said and waved goodbye to Carrie's friends.

He was about to close the car's door when he heard his friends calling out to him. Bumaba ulit siya upang salubungin ang mga ito.

"Uy. Ba't kayo nandito?"

"Wala lang. Gusto ka lang naming sabihan ng 'good luck'," sabi ni Mike.
