"He's early," sagot niya. "Okay, I'll be right there in a minute."
"He requested to meet you here instead of his office," sabi sa kanya ni Mae habang papalapit sila sa Board Room. "He has a visitor and he's staying there right now."
"Really? Who?"
Natigilan si Mae at namutla. "Uhmm... Ano po... Ahhh...
"Good afternoon, Ms. Mendoza. I'm Nathan, Mr. Vergara's new assistant," pagpapakilala nito. "This way, please."
"I'll call you back," saad nito sa kausap. "I have a meeting."
"Carrie, how are you?" tanong nito sa kanya.
You don't realize how boring it was inside my home. I'm still strong at 62, you know?
"Anyway, what do you want to talk about, Carrie?"
"I think you already have an idea," she replied.
Luis looked at her. The expression on his face became serious and he nodded lightly.
He cleared his throat. "So, you heard about it. About the sale of my shares. I haven't told anyone about it yet except-"
"I have my ways, and I'm bound to know about it eventually," putol niya rito. "I'm here to tell you to cancel it."
"Look, Carrie. I know that you trusted me so much. I thank you for it. But, you know my story, right? And the story of this company," he said. "Raul is my friend and I owe him a lot. I achieved the status that I have now because of his help. We established this business together and it became a subsidiary of the FGC. When the Group went down, I have no choice but to ask for Masahiro's help to save it."
"I appreciate your continued support for me being the Chairman of the Board. Despite everything that happened, you still trusted my capabilities. But I'm not that young anymore."
