Weeks passed by and they were already in the last days of July, two days more before the School Festival. Based on the rules, bawal ang magpatulong sa outsiders when it comes to the preparations for each section's attractions kaya naman sobrang busy ang lahat ng mga estudyante ng Goldwest. They will be graded on their performances.
Carrie's class decided on a cosplay cafe since everyone agreed on Ali's idea, kaya ito siya ngayon at busy sa paggawa ng props at iba pang decorations kasama ang ibang girls sa klase. Si Ali naman ay busy sa pagga-guide sa mga kasama sa kung ano ang gagawin. Nakita naman niya si Kyle na kapapasok lang ng room nila na tumutulong sa pagbubuhat ng mga tables at chairs na gagamitin nila.
"You're really good at these, Carrie. How I wish na may creative hands din ako gaya mo," said Angela, one of her classmates.
"Everyone can be creative in their own ways. Practice lang 'yan," then she smiled at her. "Pakilagay naman nito sa dulo... Ayan," she said nang maibigay niya ang isang bead dito.
Gumagawa sila ng karatula na ilalagay nila sa harap ng room.
Lumapit sa kanila si Ali. "Snacks, girls," she said and gave them burgers.
"Thanks, Pres," they said altogether.
"By the way, ready na ba kayo sa mga costumes niyo? I'm so excited! Ide-deliver na mamaya ang pinagawa kong Harley Quinn attire," said Mia while taking a bite on her burger.
Tinignan siya ni Ali with a satisfied look. Ito ang pumili ng susuotin niya. Natalo kasi siya sa isang game.
"Kung sino ang unang makakabuo ng puzzle pieces ang magde-decide ng attire nating dalawa," sabi ni Ali a few weeks ago sa loob ng kanilang dorm room. Nakalatag sa long table ang dalawang set ng puzzle na binili nina Jan online.
"Go girls!" pagchi-cheer ng apat nilang kaibigan. "Three, two, one, GO!"
Nahuli si Carrie sa pagbuo ng puzzle. Isang puzzle piece lang ang lamang ni Ali sa kanya. Ngiting-ngiti naman ito at nakipag-high-five sa mga roommates nila.
May tinawagan ito sa room telephone nila pagkatapos. "Ate Kara," she said to the dorm receptionist on the ground floor, "let her in, please. Thank you."
Pagkababa ng telepono ay nagsitinginan sa kanya ang mga kaibigan. Parang may balak ang mga ito na hindi niya alam.
Magtatanong na sana siya kung sino iyon nang biglang may kumatok sa pintuan nila. Dali-dali iyong pinagbuksan ni Ali.
"Hi, Sydney! Come in," bati nito sa bisita nila. "Guys, meet Sydney. She'll be the one making our costumes, Rii. And, don't worry about the price, it's on me since I won. No if's, no but's," sabi nito bago pa siya makapag-react.
"Hello. You really are pretty," sabi nito sa kanya. "Bagay sa figure mo ang napiling character ni Ali."
She stared at her friend as if saying, 'You planned all this?'. She just shrugged.
Sydney got their measurements. Then she laid down a set of pictures on the table.
"Please pick a design from these," sabi nito sa kanila.
Nakapili na si Ali from the pictures of that character Asuna from a virtual reality gaming anime.
Nagulat siya sa nakikita sa mga pictures sa harap niya.
"Lucy Heartfilia?" she stared at Ali who is smiling playfully. She remembered the character from one of those series her friend was watching.
Can I dare myself to wear these? Masyadong exposed ang balat ko nito, she gulped and thought to herself.
