Crimson Eyes

It had a humanoid form, but with purple skin and crimson eyes. I put my hand out chanting 'omilus sinwe, antrolaes sinwe', the Deterrer's Spell, as he lunged at me. He went flying and landed on the floor covering his ears, screaming in excruciating pain.

I kept on chanting until his screams ceased. I then opened the safe, grabbed the grimoire, and set it on the stand. I rifled through the pages looking for a description of this creature and there it was. It was a Juangrand, a creature that survives on human hearts. 'So what happened to the remains of the people he had killed?' I thought to myself as I turned around, but there he was, ready to come at me again.

I put my hands out and chanted the spell once more, sending him across the room and onto the floor. As he fell screaming, I continued to chant. After a while, he was silent, which is when I carefully chanted an asphyxiation spell to make sure he'd be unable to move before chaining him with Gondilian chains; chains made of a special metal to keep any monster from breaking loose.

I then locked him in the cellar and lifted the asphyxiation spell. As I was leaving, I heard it grunt behind me. I turned around and saw that he was trying to remove the chains. "You can try, but you  can't remove them, you monster," I said, not knowing if he could understand me. He kept grunting nevertheless, so I left the cellar. I wanted to call Jared and give him the news, but what would I say? 'How would I explain my part in this story?' I asked myself. I went upstairs to take a nap before going to see Melissa as I didn't have enough sleep the previous night. I must have fallen asleep because I woke up for the ringing of the doorbell. I rushed down, and opened the door and to my surprise, it was Jared at the door.

'Does he have the power of reading minds?' I asked myself.

"Jared, What are you doing here?" I asked as I let him in.

"Just came to check on you," he said, smiling.

"Okay, what can I get you?" I asked politely.

"Just a glass of water would be great Octavia," he replied.

After handing him the glass of water, I decided to ask him about the bodies.

"Jared, what about the dead bodies Melissa saw? Have you found them?" I asked.

"I don't know what Melissa presumed to have seen, but there were no bodies found," said Jared as he got up to leave.

"Are you leaving?" I asked, wondering if I made him uncomfortable with my questions. 'But why would he be?' I asked myself.

"Yes, Octavia, I just dropped by to check on you, but I am still on duty," he said, walking out. Right as he stepped out, a loud scream came from the cellar.
