"Melissa, what happened? What are you doing here?" I asked.
I was more shocked than surprised when I saw her; she looked like she had been in a fight.
"All hell broke loose, Octavia," Melissa said, hugging me.
"What happened?" I asked, stroking her head.
"Let her come in first," Aunt Cassie said.
She stepped in and sat down. She was in tears.
"What happened, and where is Orlando?" I asked impatiently.
"On our way home, Orlando noticed the mark on my neck and questioned me about it," she said.
"What mark?" I asked.
"This," she said, showing her neck.
It was from when the monster grabbed her and Anastasia.
"Oh, crap; the scar's still there. What did you say?" I asked.
"I tried to lie, but he saw right through me. So I said I'll tell him everything when we get home," she said.
"And then what happened?" Anastasia asked.
"When we got home, I told him the truth," she said.
"What?" I asked.
"I said I'm a witch and he just flew off the handle. He accused me of being a killer," Melissa said.
"But that doesn't make any sense," Arya replied.
"Well, it seems Orlando isn't who we thought he was; he's a demon," she said.
"He's a what?" Aunt Cassie asked.
We all were in shock.
Yeah, his father was a demon; and to make things more complicated, his mother was a witch," Melissa said, "His mother vanquished his father when she found out he was a demon."
"I'm guessing his father was using her just to create Orlando," Aunt Cassie said.
"Because he'll have the powers of both a witch and a demon, isn't it?" Arya asked.
"Exactly. He's what you'd call a 'Vondrohn'," Aunt Cassie said; "The most powerful kind of creature you'd find on Earth,"
"Oh, that's just lovely," Anastasia said.
"We need to find a way to kill him," I said.
"No, don't!" Melissa said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"He could've killed me back then, but he didn't," she replied.
"But he's probably going to come looking for you soon," Aunt Cassie said.
"And for us, too, if he knows we're witches, too," I said.
"He does," Melissa said.
"Oh, boy," Arya said.
"I'm sorry, Melissa, but we have to prepare for the worst," I said.
"Exactly, we won't hurt him unless he tries to hurt us," Aunt Cassie said.
"What happened to his mother?" I asked.
"He probably killed her," Anastasia said.
"Well, if he did kill his own mother, killing us wouldn't be an issue, now, would it?" I asked.
"I don't know if he killed her. I need some time to think about this," Melissa said, walking away.
"Should we follow her?" Anastasia asked.
