Brian grabbed us and teleported us behind the monsters. The monsters couldn't control their step as they banged into the wall ahead.
"Asphyxiation spell!" I shouted and started chanting as Melissa and Anastasia joined in.
The monsters looked around confused as they got back up and turned towards us. We continued to chant the spell while they lunged at us again, but Brian grabbed on to us and teleported us behind the monsters once again while we continued to chant. They banged into the wall yet again, unable to control their speeds.
"These monsters are not very smart, are they?" Brian said.
They got up looking furious before lunging at us yet again. We put our hands out, sending them against the walls as we chanted; keeping them strapped to the walls, unable to move. We then chanted the asphyxiation spell once again. After a few minutes of chanting, they fell to the floor.
"Oh, thank god; I wasn't sure if it would work," I said with a sigh of relief.
After asphyxiating the monster, we left them lying on the floor as we marched forward, hoping we wouldn't encounter any more monsters.
"Thanks for insisting on coming, Brian. I'm not sure we would have been able to do this by ourselves," I said.
"No need to thank me, I'm just doing my job. And besides, I'm sure you girls would have found a way, even if I weren't here," he said.
"I'm not so sure; we are in a place where our magic has very little power," I said as we walked forward.
"She's right, Brian. Melissa said; "We owe you."
"You girls owe me nothing," Brian said, shrugging it off.
We walked along an open area cautiously, not knowing what to expect in a place where monsters were so much stronger than us.
Melissa held on to my hand. "Octavia is it safe to walk around in this open plane with monsters crawling around?" she asked.
"What other options do we have? Let's just be cautious and watch out for more monsters."
"Monster at 12 o'clock!" Anastasia said.
Brian teleported us past them, but only to end up face-to-face with two more.
"Not again," I said as I put my hand out, sending them against the wall.
They fell to the floor and we started chanting, not allowing them to get up. We continued, chanting a combination of spells, putting the monsters to sleep. We then ran ahead, trying to keep away from the rest of them.
Eventually, we came across a ten-foot-tall monster that could have weighed a thousand pounds. It had ultraviolet skin, crimson eyes, four arms, and two horns. It looked at us in fury and uttered something as it came towards us.
We moved away, chanting like before, but it didn't seem to work at all. Brian teleported us from there and into the room it was guarding. There it was in a glass box with metal bars: a dark, double-edged sword—one that slays monsters.
"We're in the right place," I said, staring at the blade in amazement. I felt a strange feeling come over me; I needed to hold the blade.
I reached over and tried to open the glass box, but it didn't budge. Right then, the door opened and the monster rushed in screaming. We moved away and it landed on the glass box. Oddly enough, the box wasn't harmed by it.
It kept coming at us and Brian had to keep teleporting us around the room to evade its fury. I chanted a spell to open the box while the others tried to subdue the monster. It finally unlocked. I then grabbed the blade with both my hands and felt a surge of energy flow through me. It felt strange, yet so exhilarating.
'There's something about this blade; it feels like it was made for me,' I said to myself as I stared at it with lustful eyes.
"Hurry, Octavia!" shouted Melissa, bringing me out of my thoughts.
I turned around and noticed the monster grabbing on to the three of them with its hands. I rushed towards them and plunged the sword into the monster's back. It screamed in agony as it went up in flames.
'Okay, so that's what it does,' I said to myself, amazed at its powers.
"Wow, it just caught fire!" Melissa said.
"Yes, it's truly powerful magic," I said, admiring the blade.
"Let's see," Anastasia said.
"Not yet; let's get out of here first," I said.
"I second that," Brian said.
But as we rushed out, we were confronted by a horde of monsters.
"Step aside, you filth!" I said as I thrust the blade into one of them, burning it alive. The other monsters looked in horror as it was reduced to ashes before their eyes.
"So...who's next?" I asked, smirking as I pointed my blade at them.
"No, stop," Brian said as he grabbed on to us and teleported us back.
But as we did, I felt something hang on to my leg; and once we were back home, I noticed what it was.
"Look, it's a stowaway!," I said, chuckling as I stabbed it in its chest.
"Seriously, Octavia, what's gotten into you?" Brain asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"You've been acting strange ever since you touched that blade. Maybe you should put it down and check if it has some strange magical energy in it," he said.
"Of course it has strange magical energy. How else would it set those monsters on fire?" I asked.
"Yes, I know that, but you're acting very strange. Maybe you should put the sword down for a moment," Brian said.
"No, I don't think I will. The sword spoke to me; it said I'm its rightful owner," I replied, holding it close to my chest.
"Oh no, the sword is bewitched." Aunt Cassie said. .
