"You monster, how are you back?" I asked, putting my hands up and sending her against the wall. She got up swiftly, dusting herself as she shouted, "You can't send me away; I won't rest until I destroy each and every one of you!"
"Why, mom, why?" Anastasia asked. "I told you, I am not your mother," she screamed, sending Anastasia against the wall. "No!" I yelled, clenching my fist as I chanted the explosive spell. I could see her turn red as she screamed in agony. I continued to chant; she screamed as she went up in flames. "No, Octavia! Don't kill her; just send her away!" Anastasia shouted. I ignored her and chanted while the smell of burning flesh flooded the room. "No, Octavia, she's my mother!" Anastasia screamed as the dark witch exploded with her final cries.
"No!" Anastasia screamed, falling to the floor. "Oh, stop being such a baby; I did what had to be done!" I said, walking away. "You don't understand; you grew up with mom and I didn't. The only mother I knew was her. She loved me like her own, even after she gave birth to her own daughter," Anastasia said. "Yes, but she then turned you into a dark witch, imprisoned our father, and then killed him along with Christen. Oh, and she then she tried to kill us, too, including you," I said, "The loving mother you knew back then disappeared when she found out the truth. Face it, Anastasia: to her, you are just a byproduct of the betrayal by her husband and best friend," I said.
I walked away, leaving her lying on the floor crying. "It's okay, Anastasia, this had to be done," Melissa said, trying to console her. "Yes, honey, if she wasn't stopped, she would've killed us all," Aunt Cassie said, stroking Anastasia's head. I went to my room and closed the door, wanting to be by myself. I thought about Christen and Dad and wished I could go back in time and bring them back...or at least use a spell to bring them from the dead. 'Maybe I can,' I said to myself, wondering if there was a spell to bring them back. I rushed out of the room and to the grimoire. "Where are you running off to?" Aunt Cassie asked as I ran past her. "Just checking something," I said, not wanting to waste time talking.
I opened the grimoire and quickly started turning the pages. At last, there it was: a spell to bring back the dead. I stared at it, wondering if I should just go ahead and recite it or first speak to everyone. "So, what are you up to?" Aunt Cassie asked, walking in with my sisters. "Well, you know how I always do the best thinking when I am alone?" I asked. "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do," she replied.
"Well, I just thought of a way of solving our problem," I said. "What problem; didn't we solve it already?" Aunt Cassie asked. "No, I'm talking about bringing back Dad and Christen," I said. "Really, how?" Melissa asked. "With this spell," I replied, pointing to the spell. "Oh, no, Octavia; that's not a good idea," Aunt Cassie said. "Why not? Maybe we can bring Mom back, too," I said. "Yes, why shouldn't we if we can, right?" Melissa asked. "True, if there is a spell to bring back the dead, then why not use it?" Anastasia asked.
"No, girls, it's a bad idea," Aunt Cassie said. "Why's it a bad idea? It's not like we are hurting anyone. Besides, what's the point in all these powers if we can't use them to bring back our loved ones?" I asked. "Well, bringing back the dead can cause serious repercussions," Aunt Cassie said. "What's so bad about that?" I asked.
"Bringing back the dead is similar to playing god, and that never ends well," she said. "I am willing to take that chance, but I can't decide for the rest of you," I said. "I'm with you, Octavia. Sorry, Aunt Cassie," Melissa said. "Me, too," Anastasia said. "Then it's settled; we are doing this," I said. "Fine, if I can't stop you, at least let me cure you before you try this stunt, Octavia," Aunt Cassie said. "I feel fine," I said. "But you aren't fine, honey," Aunt Cassie said. "Yes, Octavia, let's do it, please," Melissa said. "Fine," I said. "They chanted the healing spell to rid me of the evil they believe I possessed. After a few minutes, Aunt Cassie said, "Let's check if it worked."
She then chanted a revealing spell to reveal my true self. "All's well, you're healed," she said after a few minutes. "Okay, so shall we do this?" I asked. "Sure," Aunt Cassie said. We started chanting and opening a portal to the Soul World. But, as we were to enter the portal, a voice came from behind saying, "Hello, sis. Going somewhere?" making us turn around.
