We tightly held on to each other as we got sucked in. Moments later, we found ourselves in a place unfamiliar. We looked around; Brian wasn't with us.
"Where are we, and where did Brian go?" Arya asked.
"Girls, I believe we're in one of the Shadow Worlds," Aunt Cassie replied.
Right then, I spotted two shadows approaching us. "Something's coming our way."
But there was no place for us to run, no place to hide. We stood our ground and used the Vanquishing Spell, but it bore us no good. We tried another spell, and another, but nothing would work.
'Is this how it ends?' I thought as the shadows surrounded us.
We were all frightened and helpless. Desperate, I called out to Brian, hoping he'd hear me...but he did not appear. 'Perhaps this world has some repulsion spell against advisors,' I wondered. Either way, we were alone here.
But, the shadows didn't harm us. Instead, they ensnared us and led us to a castle. As we walked through a vast hallway, I saw Melissa in the distance. She was on a throne.
"Melissa? Wait, what's going on here?" I asked.
"I'm sorry, witches, but Melissa can't answer you right now," she said.
"What? Who are you, and where's Melissa?" I asked.
"You are looking at her right now, but it isn't her you're talking to: it's Orlando," she said.
"You give us back our sister, you wretch!" Arya said.
"You watch your mouth! I would take great delight in slaughtering you lot, especially you as you're the one who drove that cursed blade through my heart, but for now, you're my prisoners," he replied, waving the shadows to take us away.
"Oh, you just wait. We'll destroy you all over again," Anastasia said as we were led out of the room. He replied only with a smirk.
We were thrown into a prison cell in the castle's dungeon. "Great...we're trapped in a dungeon in another dimension, which is guarded by shadow demons following the orders of the spirit of a Vondrohn we killed not long ago," Anastasia said.
"Whining about it isn't going to get us anywhere, sis," Arya said.
"Don't worry, girls, we'll find a way out of this. We always do," Aunt Cassie said.
But it was easier said than done. Everyone was still anxious. We had been stripped of our powers, so, even if we were to break free, how would we get out of this world? Brian was our only hope, but even he was unreachable.
We saw if he could use our powers together to unlock the cell, but it was to no avail. I was frustrated. I wanted to break something. "Damn it!" I yelled, which only angered the shadow demons; they sent us flying against the wall.
"Nice going there, sis," Anastasia said.
"Maybe we're going at this the wrong way," Arya said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, right now, we're no different from normal people, so maybe we should improvise."
"So, what do you propose?" Aunt Cassie asked.
"Why not pick the lock?" she asked.
I couldn't help but smile. I was impressed by her quick thinking. "Well, that's one way to do it," I replied; "Thanks, Arya."
"But, even so, the shadow demons out there remain the main problem," Anastasia said; "How do we get past them?"
"We still have to try," I replied.
Arya picked the lock and got us out, but we were spotted not long after and put back in the cage. Nothing was working. 'Are we really going to be stuck here till we wither away?' I asked myself.
Time passed by at a snail's pace. In my heart, I had already given up. How was I supposed to protect the ones that I love without my powers? The emotions were overwhelming. Eventually, my eyelids grew heavy and I slipped into a deep slumber. I was awoken by a familiar voice: it was Brian.
"Brian! Oh, I'm so glad to see you!" I said, but he faded into a dark mist before my eyes, evanescing into the air. I was woken up by a tap on my shoulder: it was Arya. 'So it was just a dream,' I thought.
I wasn't sure if Brian would ever be able to reach us. For now, we were on our own.
