"What's wrong, Octavia? Why won't you tell me what you saw?" Melissa asked.
I wasn't sure if I should tell her about it; I knew it would be too much for her to handle. However, she deserved to hear the truth.
"You can be saved, sis, but it comes at a price."
Melissa sighed as she clasped her hands. "And what is it?"
"You won't be able to have children afterwards."
"Is that so?" she asked, turning her head away to stare at the floor.
"There must be another way, Octavia. We just need more time to find one," Anastasia said.
"No, she's probably right, sis," Melissa replied; "Besides... What choice do we have right now? The longer this baby stays in me, the more I put everyone around me in danger. We have to do this, no matter the price."
An uneasy feeling crept into my stomach, clenching it from within as I remembered how Melissa once said she wanted to have a large family once she had settled down.
"Alright, sis... Let's just wait for Brian to get back. Until then, we'll go through the grimoire," I said, wrapping my arm around her. I could feel soft splashes upon my shirt as she laid her head on it.
We were going through the grimoire later when Arya suggested we call Aunt Cassie, and Aunt Cassie said she'd rush over the moment we broke the news to her.
I then found a spell in the grimoire related to our situation and, right then, Brian appeared. I told him about my premonition and he said that he said that it was also the only solution he could find.
We told him that Aunt Cassie was on her way, and teleported to bring her to us.
After she arrived, we began chanting. Melissa began to scream in agony, but those screams soon turned into demonic roars.
"You wretched witches! I will kill you all!" the Vondrohn within her yelled.
"You're not hurting anyone ever again, Orlando!" I yelled as we continued to chant.
With the last line of the chant, Melissa passed out. I tried to check her pulse, but Brian told me to stay back, saying that the Vondrohn could possess me.
He used his powers to look for Orlando's presence and sighed in relief. "He's gone..."
"Finally," Arya said, laying her arm on Anastasia.
"Don't try to move her until she wakes up. She needs to recuperate for now," Brian said.
We agreed and he left.
