Namjoon rushed down the street carefully. In his arms was a takeout order of Aera's favorite food. Lately he had been busy and felt like he wasn't doing his job of taking care of her.
"You really think you can get away with doing that to us?"
Namjoon stopped in his tracks at the voice. He felt something was wrong and looked around. He found a crowd gathering at the opening of an alleyway. Curious, he pushed towards the front of the crowd.
There, he saw Taehyung curled up in a ball. There were three other men who stood before him. They laughed as they hit the poor boy. Taehyung tried to stand while they were talking amongst themselves.
"How long is he going to last that? It's been a couple of minutes since they started hitting him."
Namjoon's eyes widened. He placed the food he held aside and charged in.
"Hey cut it out!" Namjoon shouted. The three guys turned in his direction. The guy in the middle smirked and approached him. It was then he saw their height difference.
"What're you going to do about it?" The guy said. "We're all friends here, we're just playing around."
"Just cut the crap while I'm still nice alright? Taehyung let's go." Namjoon said. Taehyung tried to walk towards the two, only to be slammed in the other direction by one of the tall guy's friends.
"I call the shots around here." He said. He spit on Namjoon. "Disrespect me and you'll regret it."
Taehyung, now angered, got up and limped towards them. He stopped in his tracks when a figure went flying past him. He looked back and saw the tall guy sliding down the wall.
"Didn't your mother teach you manners?" Namjoon growled. His dark eyes glared daggers in their direction.
"What are you two standing for? Get him!" The tall boy groaned.
"But Teng..." The other mumbled. He didn't continue any further as the boy identified as Teng glared at him.
The two henchmen charged towards Namjoon. He skillfully dodged their attacks but was careful enough not to activate his Hunter skills. He didn't want to write a report for using them off duty anyway.
He took the chance to use their force against them like how he was taught. He pushed them back and watched them tumble towards Teng.
Namjoon turned to Taehyung and smiled. He placed the injured boy's arm around his shoulder and assisted him out of the alley, not forgetting the food he bought.
"Watch you back!" Teng shouted. "I'll fucking kill you!"
"Thank you." Taehyung muttered. "You didn't have to. You got your hands dirty for me."
"Hey, you're Aera's good friend. Basically mine too so don't sweat it." Namjoon assured. "Why did they decide to pick on you?"
"It's because they were going to kill the puppy and I thought it was unfair." Taehyung answered. "It was helpless against them so I threw a rock at them and told them off."
"If they ever come after you again call me alright?" Namjoon said. "I'll take care of them for you."
"I'm not as weak as you think." Taehyung muttered. "Have you always been this strong? You sent him flying almost 10 meters back."
Namjoon shrugged. It was one of the reasons he didn't activate his skills.
He could have killed the guy.
