"You're here!" Aera couldn't help but hug him. "Kim Namjoon I thought you wouldn't come back."
"Why would I miss my best friend's wedding?" Namjoon laughed as they pulled away from each other. He brushed his silver hair back and removed his sunglasses. His pink eyes died down back to the normal brown as he stared at her.
She was absolutely stunning. The way her eyes sparkled with excitement, her plump lips cherry red and curled into a beautiful smile, and the way her hair flowed past her shoulders. Her dress made her look like a princess.
Sadly though, she wasn't his princess.
"It's going to start soon, you should head in." Aera said.
"You have no one to drop you to the altar right?" Namjoon asked. The girl nodded. After all she had no father to walk her to the altar. "I'll walk you there."
"Joon you don't have to." Aera assured.
"But I want to." Namjoon insisted. Before the girl could argue, the doors opened for her. He jutted his arm out and let her wrap hers around his. They walked down slowly towards the altar where a teary eye Jungkook stood.
Jungkook couldn't hold his tears back as she approached. He couldn't believe that the day finally came where they would make their vows— the day that seemed like it would never come.
The way he imagined her in his dreams came to life as she neared. He saw his future in her teary eyes. He saw the reason why he's alive. He saw the person he needed to protect. He was glad she didn't give up on him. He was glad that she chose him.
Namjoon guided her up the steps and smiled at the two. His eyes shifted to Jungkook who wiped his tears with his handkerchief.
"Take care of her in my place." Namjoon said. "I'm warning you I will strangle you if she gets hurt."
"Yes sir." Jungkook chuckled. Namjoon walked away and to his seat. Hoseok, who stood beside him, noticed his long face.
"You really made it." Hoseok whispered.
"I promised her I wouldn't miss it. Hurts but it's all good, she's in good hands now after all." Namjoon said. "I'll be leaving soon though."
The ceremony went on as the priest said his rites. Despite the controversy of their wedding, everyone was excited for it. It would be one step closer into accepting hybrids and changing history.
"With this ring in my hand,
In front of everyone and this whole land
I make a promise to my soon to be wife
The greatest love of my lifeI promise to love you whole
To take care of the heart I stole
And believe me when I tell you this
Then let me seal it with a kissI will never get tired of gazing into your eyes
That shine brighter than the stars in the night skies
Never be conscious of how you curl your lips
Your smile is the most beautiful there isI promise to love you even when we're old
Wrinkly as we tell our grandchildren stories untold
And until the moment I can never walk again
I'll take you to places we've never beenWhen the day comes—"
Jungkook's voice cracked as the tears that threatened to fall flowed down his cheeks nonstop. He took a deep breath as he tried to collect himself. Aera sniffled as she raised a hand to wipe his tears.
