Aera rolled on the ground and straight into a tree. She coughed as her breath left her. She struggled to breathe as the pain died down.

"Leave." Jungkook said as he turned away. Aera forced herself up and clung onto him for dear life. At this point, she might have broken some ribs and bruises must have decorated her petite body. Jungkook threw her aside again and kicked her. She coughed up some blood as her vision went white for a bit.

"Why don't you kill me then?" Aera asked. It hurt to talk, heck it hurt to even breathe. "I'm much weaker than you why won't you kill me?"

Jungkook only tilted his head as the voices in his head began to argue.

Why won't you just kill her?

She's asking for it.

She looks delicious doesn't she?

She's your lover, don't.

She's trying to trick you.

"Please wake up Jungkook. I'm here." Aera begged. "If it means I get to see you smile again I'll gladly die."

She forced herself onto her feet and clung onto Jungkook. Just a little more and hopefully it would work like Jisung said. If only she had some kind of weapon maybe it would be faster. Jungkook peeled her off and shoved her back.

He wanted to kill her but the nagging voice in his head kept shouting.

Don't kill her!

Let me take over!

"Let me protect you." Jungkook mumbled to himself. The Nightwalker side of him only wanted to protect his weak human side like he did years ago. "Don't you want your brother to love you?"

Why would I choose someone who's only using me?

"Jungkook... please." Aera shakily got up and clutched her stomach. "I won't give up."

"Enough nonsense." Jungkook huffed. He turned the opposite direction and walked away, looking for a victim.

"Then snap out of your limbo and wake up." Aera spat. She got a rock and threw it at Jungkook. It hit the back of his head making him stop in his tracks. "I didn't mean that. Please hear me out."

Aera looked around for something, anything honestly. She needed something sharp enough to draw a lot of blood. She cursed at the thought of asking Jimin before he left.

"God I'm stupid." Aera sighed. Maybe if she weren't already covered in bruises and cuts she would have hit her head.

"Jungkook, I'm going to fucking kill her. She's our weakness and we don't need that." He mumbled to himself.

Don't! Let me control my body right now!

Soft laughter caught both their attention. The sound of the leaves crunching under multiple light feet could be heard not far away. Children emerged from behind a house. A confident little boy led their way, unaware of the dangers.

"See, I told you all that there would be no trouble! We're avoiding it so easily." The little boy said. Aera could feel both panic and adrenaline rise in her as she saw the smirk appear on Jungkook's face.

"What are you children doing here? Run!" Aera shouted. The children did not hear her warning and proceeded to laugh and play around. "Shit."

Jungkook charged at them, a pole he pulled from a random house in his hand. He nearly hit one of the children but Aera threw another rock at him. He stepped back as blood dripped from his new wound. The children ran towards Aera who tried to hide them behind her.

"Go, unnie will handle this." Aera assured. The children ran as fast as they could as Aera tried to keep Jungkook away. "Stop it Jungkook!"

Jungkook poked his inner cheek with his tongue, a look of annoyance on his face. His patience with her was hanging by a thread yet the little voice in him told him repeatedly not to kill her. One of the children had slipped on the bloody grass. Aera ran up to her to help her up, but saw Jungkook moving in the corner of her eye. She skidded to a stop just before the child and put her arms out, shielding the little girl.

The sickening sound of flesh ripping horrified the child as a pole appeared a few meters from her. The warm, sticky blue liquid splattered around the surrounding area. Aera felt the blood ooze from her mouth as the pain spread throughout her body. She looked at the child below her and forced a smile on her lips.

"Ru...n.." Aera coughed. Her voice was barely audible, but luckily the child snapped out of her trance and made a run for it. Aera turned her attention to the horrorstricken face of Jungkook. His eyes finally had color, specifically neon aqua blue. They flashed between the dull white, letting her know that he was slowly coming back.

The child stumbled to get up and ran away. Jungkook looked conflicted like an argument was occurring in his head. Aera put a hand over his bloodied hand catching his attention. He tried to remove his hand but Aera only held on tighter.

"Do you remember when you said you said I'm the only girl you like being with? That I'm the only girl you want to be close with?" Aera choked out. She took a deep breath and walked forward, not minding the pain as the pole went through her even more.

"What are you doing?!" Jungkook asked horrified. "He told me not to kill you!"

"Do you remember when you asked me to marry you? I was the happiest when you said that. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you." Aera could feel the warm beads stream down her cheeks, mixing with the blood on her face.

At this point Aera was confident. She was only unsure of how she would survive but if she wasn't, she was glad that she spent the last few moments with Jungkook.

"Do you remember when you said that you have the most beautiful moments in life with me? I do too." Aera smiled. "Even the worst moments are the most beautiful. They show you the beauty in an ugly moment. They mould you into the person you are today. The happiest times will give you hope, but the strongest will give you strength."

Aera stopped moving as she was only inches away from Jungkook.

"Please, snap out of it." Aera begged. "No matter what happens or what you do I'll always love you."

Aera used the little strength she had left to give Jungkook a hard punch in the stomach. The boy doubled over, mouth wide open. Aera pulled him into a kiss, letting the blood from her mouth enter his.

Jungkook felt the hairs on his body stand as the familiar liquid slid down his throat. The sweet blood quenched the hunger that had been growing these past few days as he was unable to eat anything given to him. All the memories came back to him as the voices in his head suddenly quieted down.

He felt in control. Aera let go, a soft smile on her face. Her vision began to darken as Jungkook seemed to get a hold of himself. His brown eyes sparkled with life and realization on what he had just done. Aera fell to the ground with a thud.

"NO!"
