Chapter 14- fortune cookies

"So harry told me you two made up, he didn't happen to tell you why he was ignoring you did he?" Niall asked, taking a sip of his drink.

"Uh he said he was the one who told you about me zayn," i replied quietly, not wanting to bring that up again because i was enjoying this time with niall, and i wanted to keep having a good time with him instead of bickering over the same stuff.

"Oh he did," niall stopped, "i mean yeah yeah he did" but it sounded more of a question than an answer.

"Are you sure about that because you don't seem to be positive," i laughed, drinking my dr.pepper

"Yeah positive," he mumbled, looking down at silverware. I nodded and decided to leave it alone.

"So robin have you heard from kassie lately?" He asked, biting his bottom lip. "Uh i did when everything exploded but other than that no ," i told him

"Oh well i was just wondering because it seems like she's kinda distant lately." He sighed

"Yeah it does, i miss her, and now that you mention it i haven't gotten a single text or call from her in a while, or any of my friends for that matter except for Mari and zayn, and sometimes you but that's about it." I explained. It seems like when i need my friends the most they aren't here, and it makes me wonder, if kassie was the one who told me about everything, then why hasn't she been here for me, why hasn't any of my bestfriends even bothered to call me.

I washed these thoughts from my mind because i sounded ridiculous i mean these are my best friends, and I'm just acting stupid and conceived, they have lives too, and they just might not have that much time i mean school is starting soon, and the snow is finally starting to melt from the winter.

"Niall when school starts back up, are you really going to go to weatherwax or are you still thinking about it?" I asked him shyly, giving him a sheepish smile.

"Uh that all depends," he smirked at me. "On what?" I laughed. "On you," he smiled. "On me?" I laughed

"On you." He stated

"Would you like if i went to weatherwax?" He asked, taking my hand.

"Yeah of course that would be great, i mean i might have to put up with your obnoxious self but hey it's all for a good cause," i teased

"And what might that cause be?" He rose his brow laughing at me.

"Mm well I'm helping you out by getting you out of that god awful private school, you won't have to go to school with the rich snobs anymore," i laughed.

"Ah I'm just playing , but really i think you might realize that public schools suck, I dont know about private schools but public school sucks just saying," i laughed

"Ahh but you see I'm actually going to test that myself, public school might not be that bad, and I'll be there for you of you need me, and plus it's much closer to my house than that crappy private school," he rolled a eyes letting out a chuckle.

"Your food ," the waitress spoke, setting our plates down in front of us.

"Enjoy," she told us before walking away quickly.

"Uh thanks ni," i smiled, as he was paying for the meal, tis the reason i was thanking him.

Wow i sounded really old saying tis

I mentally laughed to myself

"Niall this soup is delicious like egg drop soup is the best!" I laughed as he looked up and had a noddles hanging out of his mouth.

He sucked it up and laughed as i giggled. "Here you want a taste?" I laughed as he nodded and took the spoon from me.

He licked his lips and swallowed the soup, giving me a pleased look after doing so.

"That's good, it's what again?" He asked, wiping his mouth

"Egg drop soup," i laughed as took a bite.

"Hmm well take some to go after we finish eating you know for later ," he smirked.

I nodded and finished up my bowl as niall finished up a food as well. I'd almost forgotten how good the food was here.

"Can we get the check please," niall asked the waitress who seemed to running around like a chicken without a head.

She nodded and scurried away.

"Here is your check and fortune cookies," she smiled and once again wondered off.

"I'm getting the right one, you get the left one," niall told me, snatching up s fortune cookie with a laugh.

I laughed and tore mine open cracking the cookie to crumbs and pulling out the slip of paper.

Trust others but still keep your eyes open, for looks can be deceiving

I bit my lip and looked up at niall who was reading his fortune and eating the cookie.

"What does yours say?" Niall asked, popping the last of his cookie into his mouth, looking up from his fortune and biting his lip.

"Uh it say, trust others but keep your eyes open, for looks can be deceiving," i laughed

NIALL POV

i watched as she carefully studied her fortune, she seemed to be reading it multiple times, and i hadn't even read mine yet i was to busy eating the actual cookie.

I glanced down at the paper, popping a precise of cookie into my mouth.

Past is the past, open your eyes and see the new beginning right in front of you

I bit my lip and looked up, "what does yours say?" I asked, popping the last of my cookie into my mouth, looking up from my fortune.

"Uh it says trust others , but keep your eyes open for looks can be deceiving," she laughed

"What does yours say?" She asked me, twirling her hair in her finger

"Uh it says, past is past, open your eyes and see e new beginning right on front of you," i smiled, rubbing the back of my neck sheepishly.

"Hmm interesting," she laughed, looking at me.

How is it that fortunes always make me wonder about stuff, could robin be my new beginning, is that what it was hinting at?

I glanced up at robin, who was smiling at me and sipping her drink, and the sight was perfect, her brown eyes shining up at me with the most hope in the world, and that made me feel ten times worse for what i was doing, he'll even if i didn't like this girl i should still feel bad.

How did i even get myself get myself into this.

As i stare at her i notice she has been getting closer to me, every second, she inches closer to me. Her face is now and inch away from mine, and her hands have found mine, tangling her fingers into mine, and her eyes baring into me.

Her eyes. They shine like nobody's I've ever seen before, every time i see them, they light up my world, and everything feels like it's going to be ok because in that moment all that i have is her, and all i ever need is her. It's taken me all this time of watching her from afar and hearing about her all the time from kassie, and turning down the meet ups. It took me four years.

Four years to finally accept this, and now that i have, I'm feeling better than ever, and i don't plan on going back.

Without giving it a second thought i grabbed her face and pushed my lips to hers, gently but forcefully at the same time.

How i have longed for her lips to be against mine where they so truly belonged once again.

I felt her hand ruffle into my hair, pulling me to her to deepen the kiss. And for this moment everything seemed perfect, but moments don't last forever.
