atlas — a titan sentenced to hold up the sky after siding with the other titans in the war with the titans and olympian gods; his story is told in greek mythology

。゚☆: *. .* :☆゚.

his back strained
the weight to much to bear
his muscles gasped for relief
as he held on tight

he ached for rest
the sweet offer too much to resist
he snatched it in his hands however
and world momentarily slipped
from a moment of hesitation

the consequences were harsh
his moment of rest eclipsed by the pain
when the sky drew closer still
crushing his feeble body even more
underneath it's colossal weight

his pain was dealt with silently
his struggle went unnoticed
his whole reality a silent battle

it was rather ironic even
for who knew something so beautiful
could be so fatal?

and so like atlas
i tremble underneath the weight of my own sky

expectations and dreams
stereotypes and struggles
misfortunes and downfalls
triumphs and heartbreaks
piled all on my shoulders
crushing me underneath their weight

and so like atlas
i thirst for a simple rest
that lies too far beyond my reach

and so like atlasi thirst for a simple restthat lies too far beyond my reach
