an extremely late valentine's day poem
3 a.m. fights over smoothies
midnight conversations
expressing love through all caps
afternoon mochas
evening movies
night time dancing
under a blanket of stars
you and i
against the world
a battle of life
and death
but somehow we never die
always tasting another day
filled with rainbows and laughter
with sprinkles of thunderclouds
you and i
against the world
against each other
a battle of death
and death
we always die
never tasting a happy day
the yelling and screaming
scares all the happiness away
but we persevere
through death and death
until it's back to you and i
against the world
battles upon battles
moments upon moments
days upon days
and if i get to spend
it all with you
this war of love
is worth it
