I crave knowledge
just the way you crave that cookie
or the way she craves that smoothie
I crave knowledge
one tiny helping will not satisfy the hunger
I must have more, more, more
until my lips burst with all the secrets
and my head with all the thoughts
I feed myself knowledge
just the way you eat food
or sip from your water glass
I feed myself knowledge
I take tiny sips when I learn a new fact
or consume meals when I pore over a textbook
snacks are an article or two
and meals are a short book
I crave knowledge
but I do not let myself become callous
because of what I know
I do not view people as problems
I can fix if I tried hard enough
I crave knowledge and the power that it brings
but I am not Erudite, I am not callous
