you grab my hand
you smile widely
i hold on tight
and smile too
you say you feel something
when our hands touch
a tiny jolt of electricity
i say i do too
another bitter lie
because i'm not sure what to feel
when our hands touch
the next time you grab my hand
i clench on tightly to yours
trying to force the jolt of electricity
into existence
it doesn't work
you ask how i feel when i look at you
i say i feel happy
another bitter lie
i don't feel anything
with your hands on mine
i don't feel anything
when i look at you
and i think
perhaps
maybe i forgot
how to
feel
