I screwed up. Big time. Ms. Rose called Sierra and when Sierra went to the house, she found Rylan drunk in the house and Ashlee passed out on the couch. Turns out she overdosed on Heroin and Sierra saved her life. I didn't even know Ashlee did drugs.

What's even worse is while Rylan was drunk, he told Sierra he enjoyed beating me. Wonderful, right?

"I told you to call me or somebody if this abuse shit started happening again!" Sierra yells. I look out the car window, watching a family play in their front yard. "Why don't you ever say anything?!"

"Nobody listens." I mutter.

"What?"

"I said nobody listens, Sierra!" I stare at her, my eyes watering. "You're only a year into taking care of me. If you read my documents, you'd see all the houses I've been to are abusive! But the moment I tell someone it's automatically, 'Be grateful they're giving you a fucking home-' fuck being grateful!" I punch the dashboard in front of me.

"Y/N! What's gotten into you?" She glances over at me.

"Maybe I'm fucking tired of being walked over and treated like shit-" The car swerves, my head hitting the window. "Sierra!"

"Sorry! I don't know what happened." She looks down at the wheel. "But that's not the point Y/N, call the police-"

"When I was eleven I did and they told me to fuck off."

"They did not."

"Yes, they did. They told me it wasn't a big problem and hung up on me."

"The hell?"

"I hate my life. Everything's so fucked up. Nobody cares at all." I stare out the window.

"People do care. You just don't want to see it. You don't want to trust them." I shake my head. She doesn't understand. She thinks she does, but she doesn't. "Where did Rylan hurt you?" She asks, pulling into a street. I stay silent. "Y/N."

"It doesn't matter."

"The hell it doesn't Y/N! Stop being so damn stubborn and tell me-"

"Everywhere! Everywhere Sierra! My face, my arms, my chest, my stomach-" The tears begin to spill. "Everywhere." I sob. "Just wish he would've killed me."

"Don't say that!" She smacks my arm. I flinch. "Don't say shit like that Y/N!" She heavily sighs. If Rylan had killed me, none of what happened today would exist. I would be happy down in hell. She pulls into a driveway and stops the car. "Look at me." I don't. "Y/N look at me right now." I turn towards her and she grabs my face, staring into my eyes. "You are the most intelligent, most beautiful, most kindest person I know. If you die, I die. You and me, we're each other's family. I love you, so if you think for a second you should be dead, you're wrong. I want you here. I want you alive." She finishes.

My lip quivers, eventually breaking. She holds me close as I sob, sliding her hand down my hair. "You're my everything. Okay?"

"Why? Why do you care so much about me?" I sit back up, tears running down my face. She wipes them away with her sleeve, smiling.

"Because, you're the first person in a long time I've been able to relate to. The only person I can talk to. We're like sisters. I love you no matter how complicated you can be." I look down. "Okay? Don't think that nobody cares because I will always be right here." She points right next to me.

"In the car?" I joke.

"No!" I laugh. "Right next to you. I will always be right next to you." I nod. "Now, we're at a group home." I look out the window behind me. "Where you're going to stay until I can find you another foster home."
