     My heart hurt.

Not because it had been broken, or because something bad had happened, but because I was given specific instructions to not contact any one of my friends until seven o'clock tonight.

It was the strangest demand I could ever hear from Aaron.

But he was excited, so no matter how I felt about it, I agreed anyway, kind of curious to see what was happening.

It's five now.

Usually, we'd be texting each other in the group chat, probably giving each other the answers to homework or planning some sort of hangout that'll never happen, but not tonight.

Therefore, my heart hurts because of the return to loneliness.

I couldn't handle staying home with Sierra and Rachel, so I got permission to go see the Angels and go hang out there.

When I arrived it seemed like everything was going okay, until I could see how stressed everyone was.

Between the schoolwork, the police back at their search, hungry kids, and the arrival of a new gang in town, everybody sits on the edge of their seat.

"(Y/N)!" I whip my head to the door when I hear Karina's frantic voice coming down the hall. She slides into the room, seemingly out of breath. "Grizz and Sebaz are fighting again!"

"What the-" I'm quick to jump to my feet. This is the fourth time this week they've gotten into a fight with each other and I am over it. I'm close to making punishments just for these reasons.

The first couple of times they fought, some people saw and almost called the cops. The third time I had to squeeze Grizz on the back of his neck to get him to drop.

Now again?

It's tiring to have to pull them apart. "Where?" I stop at the empty lounging area, confused.

When she doesn't answer, I turn my head around but somehow find no trace of her.

But then I receive a heart attack.

"Surprise!" My body nearly collides with another from shock and fear, but they stop me by picking my body up and tossing me onto their shoulders like a ragdoll.

It's Grizz, "Happy birthday, (N/N)!" He jumps up and down excitedly.

"How the hell did you-" I'm cut off by my body flipping onto the mat, jerking my chest upwards with a groan. "Know..."

"Sierra told us," More faces appear other than Grizz and Karina. Seems like the whole gang is surrounding me at this point. All twenty people.

I'm gonna kill her.

She's always exposing me.

"So, our question to you is..." I'm yanked up into a sitting position. "What's your wish?" A small cake appears in front of me, lit with a single black candle.

I stare, puzzled, and almost in awe. A cake?

"You guys didn't..." Liam bends down to the floor with me.

"We did, and it's ice cream so if you don't want it to melt we suggest you hurry up and blow out the damn candle."

"Okay, I wish for..." I pause, thinking. "A will to live." Everyone laughs as I blow the candle out with a smile.

"Don't we all." Liam pulls away as Chris helps me up.

"Sierra told us you didn't like to celebrate, but you know us. It's a big day." I furrow my brows at Chris's comment.
