Long Chapter...

A burning light presses against my eyelids, making me squint and slowly open my eyes. Dreamland distant from my mind, but still making it foggy.

My eyes scan over my surroundings, it's not my bedroom. I panic for a second, starting to get up, but I'm held down by a strong force.

An arm holds me down, but not just any arm, Garroth's. Wait a minute, how did- how did I- we were watching a movie- the fuck?

By his breathing, I can tell he's asleep; his snoring slow and loud.

Carefully, I maneuver my way out of his arms, softly landing on the carpet. I look over at him, his features softened as he sleeps.

He looks like an angel- like a compliment, not what I am. I should get going, I feel like me being here is an invasion of their privacy.

Before I get up, I grab his phone, taking a picture of me posing in front of his sleeping face, and set it down, hoping he sees it when he wakes up.

Upstairs, I grab all my stuff, tiptoeing past the rooms to make sure not to wake anybody up.

"Ms. L/N, wait," I look over my shoulder, confused. Garte sits in his office, signaling for me to come in. Panic rises in my chest. I don't like that idea...

"I'm sorry if I was bothering, I was just about to leave." I stand in the doorway.

"Oh no, you're not a bother. But, Y/N L/N," the way he says my name makes shivers run down my spine. "I know who you are." I give him a confused look.

"Well obviously, I've told you about myself." I chuckle nervously.

"No, no. You are a complete angel, that's what you are." Another shiver. I glance out the door.

"Thank you?"

"Here, allow me to drive you home." He begins to stand up, but I stop him.

"That won't be necessary, Mr. Ro'Meave, but thank you for the offer."

"Well, at least allow me to tell you something." I turn to him, wanting this to be over with so I can leave. "Stay away from Garroth."

His words take me by surprise, leaving me confused about why he would say such a thing. "I know, Y/N. I know what you are. No need to hide it from me. But, I can't have you putting my son in any danger, I love him too much for that- for any of my sons. I understand this is new to you, but you'll begin to understand. Just like Aaron, you'll need to stay hidden, don't draw attention to yourself by falling for my son. Understood?"

"I-I d-don't know what-"

"Understood?" He interrupts. I don't answer.

Instead, I back away and walk towards the stairs, taking one last glimpse of him as I descend the stairs.

As I open the front door, I take one last look at Garroth. He looks so peaceful, so happy. He's perfect.

I don't deserve him. Mr. Ro'Meave's right. What if I hurt him? I can't let that happen.

I walk out and close the door behind me, speed walking down the stone path. I glance behind me and catch Garte staring out the window, watching me.

I look away, avoiding my eyes until I'm far enough from the house.

I can't go home. Not after yesterday. But I have another home. A place where I might belong and people who will welcome me with open arms.
