I sit atop the table, my legs swinging slightly, my mind going crazy.

Thousands of girls were going to die, from something that Sierra and  everybody else caused.

I barely talk as she does all her tests and experiments and give basic answers to her endless questions.

Eventually, I decide to broach the subject to her.

Would she lie to me? Straight to my face?

What is she told me the truth? How would she expect me to react.

Hopeful? Vengeful? Sad? Happy? Bewildered? Scared?

Honestly I just needed to know where both Sierra and I stood.

"So um... I heard some girls were getting sick." I say nonchalantly.

She clears her throat. "Yes... nothing serious everything will be fine." She reassures me.

I nod absently.

"I heard you helped one of them... carried her to the Infirmary all by yourself." She mentions.

I nod. "Yeah, she didn't look good." I confirm.

"Well that was very brave and kind of you to do that, if she hadn't been found she very well may have died." She warns me.

I nod. "Will they be okay?" I ask, with real concern in my voice.

Sierra breaks eye contact with me and busies herself with her papers for a second. "I don't know... maybe... possibly... possibly not... I have no idea." She lies.

"Oh I hope they're okay." I say, as I try to not throw a table over the fact that she lied straight to my face.

She straightens up and faces me again. "What about you?" You haven't been feeling ill? Showing any signs of sickness, right?" She questions.

I shake my head. "No I'm fine." I tell her.

She nods. "Good, that means you can go on the mission. You'll most likely be leaving on Tuesday. You'll be gone for weeks... maybe even months make sure you look after your body." She tells me.

I nod and agree before she tells me I can change back into my clothes.

I get dressed and emerge from behind the small space that the curtain provides.

Sierra looks up from her papers and smiles at me. "You can go, but no lessons today as I've taken a fair amount of fluids from you and you need to rest. Try not to do anything too trying for the next day or so." She says.

I nod and make my way out of her medical area.

I had the whole day off...

I make my way to the food hall where they were serving lunch. I hadn't had much to eat and I actually felt quite hungry for once.

I enter the hall that was sparsely populated with off duty guards ajd grab a bowl of soup and some bread.

I sit on my own and slowly make my way through the bowl of soup.

I realise that the man who had been gawking at me from my previous mission was now glancing at me every minute or so.

Trying desperately to avoid eye constact, I keep my gaze glued to my meal as though I am concentrating amazingly hard.

I finish the last of my soup and bread, place the cutlery in the used pile and rush out before it gets any more awkward and to avoid running into the hundreds of girls that would storm through here in barely a few minutes.
