The lesson passes slower than Maths but it eventually finishes and the bell goes. I pack up my things and tuck my chair under my desk before making my way out.

Just as I get to the doorway Hayden catches up with me and gives me a small smile. "Want me to show you where your next class is?" He asks smoothly.

I shrug. "If you want, I have Geography with Mrs Emerson." I tell him.

He nods. "Ah, Mrs Emerson. She's old, nice enough I guess though. That's room twenty five isn't it?" He says.

I check my timetable and nod.

He smiles and begins to walk to, I assume, room twenty five. I follow along next to him easily.

We exit the building and go around another when someone calls Hayden's name. He seems to roll his eyes before he turns around to face the person. It was a fairly, a bit taller than me with dark hair and a thin figure. But even with her small frame she walked with confidence.

She meets Hayden and gives him a small, yet very fake smile. "H, you weren't going to leave me to walk to my class aline, were you?" She questions.

Hayden sighs before shaking his head. "No, of course not Alice." He replies.

She gives a small squeak of satisfaction and straightens her posture. "Great let's go then." She says, holding out her arm for him to loop in with hers.

He pauses and looks back at me. "Sorry, Sophia. Your class is in the main building, once you get in there go down the corridor in the left, then just keep going straight, you'll find it." He tells me.

I take mental notes and nod.

"Yeah, you'll find it. Nice to meet you Sophia." She says with strong underlying snark that made me want to hit her. She tugs at his arm that was now intertwined with her own and begins to drag him away from me.

He towered over her. Hayden wasn't unattractive in the slightest and it didn't surprise me that he had at least once girl going after him.

He was well over six foot tall and had a large but not necessarily scary build, with tones muscles that were easily visible through his thin shirt. You could see every flex and movement. He had a similar hair colour to the other girl, Alice. But his eyes were dark blue.

I managed to find my class just before I was late. I walked in as everybody was taking their seats. I got put in the back next to Aiden of all people. Although he pretended he didn't know me. I didn't really mind.

Mrs Emerson was nice and Geography went by incredibly fast.

When the bell went, it was break. We had fifteen minutes to reorganise ourselves, go to our locker or buy something from the food hall if we wanted.

I take the time to visit my locker and deposit all the books I had acquired in my first three lessons. Mrs Emerson had given me another two books and now I had a grand total of five. I had also received some homework for the first time. Though the class had groaned the second Mrs Emerson had announced it, it made me excited.

I felt normal. I had homework. I had a part-time job to pay for whatever I was going to do in the future. For some reason, this gave me an extra spring in my step and I felt great. All the negativity that I had felt in the days leading up to this was irrelevant now, I did have a place in this world. In the real world.

And, if I didn't have one, I would make one.

I catch sight of Danielle as I get a headstart at navigating my way to my next class, which was Religious Studies.
