Even with the lights, its still quite gloomy on the platform.
All the people from my train gather around the ticket booth for information about what will be happening next.
I take a seat nearby and listen out for news.
After a few minutes, they are all shooed away. Some take seats like me, while others still clamber at the ticket booth and some simply walk out with very grumpy and annoyed expressions on their faces.
I sit back and lean my head against the brick wall behind me.
The sound of a man's voice scares ne out of my wits as he talks from the speakers.
"Ladies and gentleman... please remain calm, we understand that this delay may cause a disruption to your travels and apologise sincerely for this. You will be taken to Seattle on a train as soon as we can, but we have limited drivers available at this hour and it will take time to schedule the commute. Please remain calm, refunds will not be offered, for anything other questions or queries please line up at the ticket booth in a orderly fashion. Thank you."
So there was going to be a train coming, they just didn't know when, that was disappointing.
I make myself as comfortable as I possibly can in the chair and wait.
An hour passes, train come into the station and people get off, some briskly made their way to the exit while others hung back for another train.
Slowly, the people that had stubbornly plopped themselves in their chairs were starting to leave.
Another hour passes, the odd drunk person comes through now, less people get off from the trains and the man from the ticket booth is replaced with a middle aged woman.
Less people were hanging back now, barely anyone was standing on the platform.
Only five people populated the seats that lined the walls of the station, one of them five being myself.
The big clock on the wall told me it was past one now. I feel my stiff legs and achy back as I shift my body.
Bored and stiff, I make my way to the bathroom to stretch my legs.
The bathrooms were horrible, there was an ugly stench and mess everywhere that had long been neglected.
I change my bandages and stare at myself in the mirror. I was a bit dirty, I hadn't had a shower for two days and I felt disgusting.
I shake my head and walk out of the bathroom and take the same seat.
Then a load of noise catches my attention from the entrance.
It was loud, arguing voices, and drunk by the sounds of them. I was so tired that I didn't even care about what they were doing.
They stumble in and each buy their tickets. I subconsciously listen, they were all going to the same place except for one guy who was going to a place called Redmond. The rest of them were on their way to somewhere called Salem.
The men were loud and rowdy and there was an obvious argument going on.
They were slowly making their way closer and closer to me. As they begin to go past me I assume they won't notice me at all until one of them catches my eye.
"And what do we have here?" One of them comments, making his way over to me.
I avert my gaze and look at the ground as the rest of them make their way over as well.
The odd one out, the one heading to Redmond, hangs back slightly looking unsure.
The other men taunt and compliment me, one grabs my chin and I smack it away.
