We get to the hotel and check in. I watch her go in the bathroom to get changed.  I sit on the bed and turn on the tv. I find an episode of criminal minds. I kick off my sneakers and lay down. I feel exhausted and just want to relax.

"Hey I think we should go shopping. I need a pair of boots and a cowboy hat otherwise no one will believe I was in Texas. " She says from the bathroom.

"If that's what you want to do." I tell her trying not to release the groan that wants to come out.

"Did you know they have a new 4D roller coaster? I saw it on Facebook. "

"No I didn't." I go back to watching criminal minds.

" Would you mind if we stayed longer and went to six flags?"

"I have summer classes. " I tell her.

"Come on Blake, it's summer let's live a little and when people ask you what you did this summer, you have something fun to say. It will only be a couple extra days."

"Fine" I look up to her coming out of the bathroom dressed up and ready to go.

" Ready? " She says and her eyes light up. I get up and turn the tv back off. I put my hoody on and slip my sneakers back on. We go ahead and walk out to her mainly dragging me. I'm not really thrilled about shopping.  I hear her phone go off but she just ignores it keeps going. I look at her and she just jumps in the truck.

She heads into a store called Justins and starts looking at cowboy boots. She finds a pair and trys them on. Throws them back in the box and starts looking at hats. I follow her around. 

" Go get a pair too,  I will get them for you. "

"nah I'm good."

"Seriously Blake get boots and a hat with me. We're going out to eat after, get some barbecue. " She says excitedly and starts looking at hats.  She picks one up and looks at me winking.

She then goes back to the boots and starts looking at a black pair. "Blakey what size do you wear? "

I grab my size and put them on. I smile up at her realizing this is the only way to get out of shopping. She looks them over and then grabs me a hat.

" Blakey I think you look hot!"

"Thanks "

We head to the register and she pulls out her black card. I grab the bags for her and wait. I don't understand girls and their need to own everything.

"Ready,  I'm starving.  Let's go drop this stuff off to the truck. " I hear her stomach as we walk to the truck.  She just starts laughing.

We finally get to Billy Bob's Bbq and look around.  The waiter comes and takes our order. She orders a couple beers and starts looking at the menu. I look down at the menu and look up to her flirting with the waiter. She then orders us a huge plate.

" You order by how much meat you want. " She says and starts laughing again. 

"So you ordered everything that's on the menu?" I roll my eyes. 

" I figured we could try it all." She says and starts drinking her beer. Her phone goes off again.  She finally digs it out. I start drinking my beer.

"Its my agent,  I won't be able to hang out like I wanted.  They have a shoot on Monday that I have to do. Let's leave in the morning and then I can help you unpack when we get to my house. "

" House? I thought we got an apartment with others?"

"No I bought a house. I have Brody, Natalie, and Stacy living with me. It's not to far from campus but I'm close enough that my little brother comes and stays with me. If you're worried about getting back and forth you can have my mountaineer. I usually ride with Brody anyways. We're set up in all the same classes and I have my car that I can take when I have to work or go to practice. "

I start taking her all in. I realize there's a lot that she hasn't been telling me. I know that we have been distant since last summer. 

" What do you do for work? "

"I got signed on to model, I'm starting to do commercials to. I did a commercial for my step dad's Car lot and I got signed on after the commercial was on tv. I do alot of makeup and seventeen. "

" oh"

"If you want to come watch you can, it gets boring sometimes. I can also get you in at the car lot."

"That would be cool. " I say and go back to eating the ribs. I can't believe how much food she ordered.  She eats a little more and keeps drinking.  I start wondering what else she's hiding. 

"I would tell you to ride the bull, but I know your hurting.  You ready to go relax for the night?"

"yeah. " I follow her up to the counter and she picks up tshirts to go with the bill.

"Here I got you one too. You need souvenirs. " We head out and back to the hotel. 

Once we get to the hotel she gets into pajamas and looks at her phone.  She sets it down and looks at me. I turn the tv on and head to the bathroom.  I look at my chest and clean up my stitches. I'm going to need to see a doctor when I get there. I put antibacterial cream on and new bandages. I take some tyenol.  I get out to the bedroom and she's laying in the bed with her phone.

"What's up?"

"Nothing,  I was just texting Brody to make sure everything is ok, he just told me to stop cock blocking him. " She says and sets her phone down.

"Okay, you and Brody are real close? "

"Yeah,  he's my best friend.  I consider you a real good friend.  It's just Brody has been there for everything,  I mean with him living with me all last year and even with how stressful it was, he still hasn't left me. You will like him, he's a great guy."

"What happened that I dont know about? "

"I'm not ready to talk about it, I will tell you tomorrow. Just not now." She gets up and takes pills from her purse.  I watch her take them and I feel like I need to know what's going on right now, but every time I ask she shuts down.

"Dont worry Blake,  it's just going to calm me down.  Their antidepressants,  I take them at night. " I just nod and I realize we have alot of talking tomorrow.  She climbs back in bed. "I fall asleep fast, if you need me just wake me up. "

"Okay, can you sleep with the tv on?"

" It won't bother me." She says and rolls over. I turn the volume down and turn over the other way.

"Hey Blake,  you can hold me. It won't be weird. " She says.

I turn back over and I pull her closer to me. I put my arm around her. I just hope her problems are not too big. Within minutes I know she's sleeping and  I see her phone blinking.
