You're Michael's sister and Luke likes you

It was times like these where you wished you were an only child. Your brother's band was currently in your basement being as loud as they possibly could while they 'practiced'. For what, you didn't really know. The last gig they had had been at a very sketchy bar and it hadn't exactly had the best turnout.

You tried to concentrate again on the book you were reading, but just then Ashton banged one of the cymbols as hard as he could, the sound vibrating in your ears even from upstairs.

"That's it" you mumbled under your breath, tossing the book aside. You stomped angrily down the basement stairs and into where the boys were practicing. You stood in the middle of the room, hands on your hips with a scowl on your face.

Even though you must have looked ready to murder any one of them you were so mad, the boys didn't even notice you, they just kept on playing.

You stamped your foot in annoyance as you tried to get your brother Michael's attention to tell him to stop. He, of course, didn't hear you.

That was it. You stomped over to your brother's amp, yanking the cord that went into the guitar out of it, silencing the noise immediately.

All the boys were now looking at you. Ashton had his drumsticks still poised over the drums, Calum and Michael were glaring at you, and Luke was looking at you with a small smile on his face.

"What was that for, Y/N?" Michael whined

"I can hardly hear myself think, you guys are so loud" you said.

"We are trying to practice" Ashton said as he moved to start playing again. You groaned wearily and rubbed your temples to try and quell the headache building there.

"If you can call it that" you mumbled under your breath as you turned to walk back up the stairs.

You were almost at the top of the stairs when you heard the soft thump of Luke placing his guitar down.

"We've practiced long enough, it's too hot. Let's go do something else" he said with a bored tone in his voice.

You could hear the other boys protest, but Luke stood firm. You couldn't help but let a smile slip onto your face as you walked up the rest of the stairs

***************

You were sitting on the couch finally getting some reading done while the boys played FIFA, when Luke plopped down next to you.

"Whatcha reading, Y/N?" he asked.

You looked up at him. His usually spiky blond hair was now plastered to his forehead with sweat and his blue eyes seemed more blue as he stared at you.

"It must have been quite the game of FIFA for you to be so sweaty" you said. He smirked and bit at his lip ring, causing your breath to momentarily hitch in your throat. God, he was so beautiful, you thought.

You had had a crush on Luke for a long time, but never before today had he even seemed the slightest bit interested in you. And why would he be? You were Michael's baby sister, and completely off limits to any of the boys, as Michael had made clear many a time.

Sure, the boys had all flirted with you, but none of them were ever serious about it.

But recently Luke's flirting had been getting more and more intense, causing you to wonder if he really did see you as something more than his bandmate's annoying sister.

"You never answered me" Luke said. you snapped out of your thoughts and turned to him, showing the book spine.

"Romeo and Juliet. I have to read it for school" You explained. Luke nodded.

"I had to read that too. I kinda liked it."

"Cool" you said, all of a sudden feeling rather lame. There was an awkward silence between you two before you spoke up again.

"I wanted to thank you for what you did before. If I get an A-plus on this essay, it's all thanks to you" You said. Luke just shrugged it off like it was no problem.

He took the book out of your hand and flipped through it, stopping sometimes to read a paragraph or two. He was playing with his lip ring again, biting it and pushing it with his tongue.

He looked up and smirked as he caught you staring. He grabbed your hand suddenly and pulled you closer two him.

His hands found your face and held it in place as his head bent down to yours. This is it, he's going to kiss me, you thought. But he rested his forehead on yours.

You tried to crane your lips up so he would kiss you, but Luke pulled back, but still kept his hands on the back of your neck.

He didn't say anything for a long moment, the only sounds in the room were your breathing mingling together.

"No" he rasped, his voice deeper than normal. "I don't want to kiss you yet, Y/N. I want it to be special. I just wanted to see if you felt the same way about me"

You felt an aching disappointment, but that was soon taken away as he spoke again.

"I want you to go out with me, Y/N. Please go out with me" He said, lifting his head to look in your eyes.

"Yes, Luke" you said. "Of course I'll go out with you."

"What about today? Is today good for you?" You giggled at his eagerness.

"No. Not today, Luke. In case you don't remember, my brother is, like, a hundred feet away, and he's made it clear that none of you guys can date me."

Luke made the most adorable pouting face then and pulled you into his arms. You laid your head on his chest and he intertwined his fingers with yours.

"He doesn't need to know then. We can have a relationship in secret. We'll be like Romeo and Juliet"

You rolled your eyes at him.

"They commited suicide, Luke, so the odds are not in our favour" you said. "But if you want, you can stand outside my house at two in the morning and throw rocks at my window."

He smiled down at you, and you couldn't help but think that you could lie here and watch him forever

You guys sat in silence for a little while longer and Luke played with your hair, and you simply enjoyed being in the arms of the guy you love.
