When the movie ended, they all just sat there. Wes was the first to speak up.
"I'm sorry, that ending isn't fucking okay. There had better be more."
Jeff laughed, Nick feeling the vibrations from his chest. "No, that's the end."
At some point during the movie, Nick and turned and buried his face in Jeff's chest. Now he was just resting on it, Jeff acting like it was completely normal. Nick's heart was about to break his ribs from beating so hard.
"What'd you think?" Blaine asked Kurt.
They all missed how pale he was in the dim lighting. "It was good. I mean, I prefer Moulin Rouge."
Blaine laughed, kissing him on the top of his head. "Of course you do."
"Why does her family care and understand so much?" Hunter asked bluntly. "It's unrealistic. Most families would probably shrug it off, thinking it was a phase. Hardly any would care and support them that much."
"Because it's the media, Hunter," David said. "Families are perfect."
Hunter laughed. "True. I'd like to see the media represent a real family. Not the extremes they do, either a perfect family or an abusive one, but an average one. Sometimes not caring, sometimes caring too much, actually knowing if their kids sneak out, eating leftovers and not always fresh from the oven home-cooked meals, money struggles..." He shrugged.
"Yeah, it's perfectly easy for authors, but not filmmakers."
"I mean, it's not easy for anyone. Authors just try harder," Jeff said fairly. "They're more relatable while Hollywood is more entertaining. Not saying books aren't entertaining or that Hollywood's never relatable."
Nick smiled softly, feeling the vibrations in Jeff's chest as he spoke. The last time he had been this close to a guy, he was pinned on the ground so he could get beat up. This was a much more pleasant experience.
You know... I might be gay.
