"Why would you accuse me of something like this? You're mother is gone. She's dead, Lukas. You know that" he frowns

Cameron gives me a look before moving closer towards our dad. Both of them almost nose to nose as they glare each other down.

"I was really hoping you would be honest with us. Did you really think I wouldn't have proof? I found the letters between you and mom after she 'died'. If you wanted to make sure we knew she was 'dead', why keep letters that proves she's still alive?" Cameron sneers

Our fathers glare hardens by the second as Cameron gets up and takes papers out of his bag. He shuffles then in his hands as he takes his seat in front of dad in the couch.

"It seems something happened that you both never got in depth about in the letters. She wanted to straighten everything out but you wouldn't let her. You wouldn't give her the time of day and you forced her to leave. To leave her own kids. Her family. What kind of man forces his wife, someone he claims to love, to leave? Can answer me that?" Cameron's asks throwing the letters down on he coffee table

There had to be hundreds of letters dating all the way back to at least 2012 up to about a year or two ago. I can see her calligraphic handwriting on hundreds of papers that littered the table.

"These letters date all the way from when she left to about a year of two ago but you never thought about telling us? Why? She's our mother! We deserve to know how she is! We deserve to see her! She deserves to see us! Why did you lie?" I yell looking through the papers

"It's not a simple question I can answer Nova. Everything was complicated back then and it still is to this day" he says rubbing his forehead

"You've kept it to yourself all these years, I'm pretty sure you can at least shed a little light on the situation" I scoff

"She was a drunk and druggy. She had no control. Most of the time she barely remembered she had kids. I did what was best for this family" he says slamming his hands down in the table catching everyone's attention

I stay silent at the knowledge. From what I remembered, I never seen her like the way dad was explaining her. Either she was really good at hiding it or I was really oblivious.

"Then why does she explain right before she left how she was getting help? How she tried reasoning with you about trying to get better but you didn't seem to care about that, did you? You just wanted her gone right" Cameron chuckles sarcastically

"I loved her Cameron. I did. She was the love of my life and I tried, I tried everything in my power but it didn't seem like it was enough for her. Just drop it. She's gone. You can't change that and neither can I" He says softly

"That's where you're wrong dad because if you loved her, truly loved her like you say you do, then you would have fought for her harder. You wouldn't have ran her off, you would have fought but you didn't"
