"i'm sorry. what?" i scoff in disbelief
my dad rolls his eyes at my actions as he scan across the room.
"how is the baby that is currently growing in my daughters stomach? don't be so daft son. just tell me" he says
"she's pregnant?" Zion questions
"you didn't know? yes, she's pregnant. woo freaking hoo" dad says sarcastically
i can feel my blood run cold at the word pregnant. all of us were wondering why she was acting so weird when nothing out of the ordinary had happened since we had joined the boys. now it all makes sense.
"it doesn't matter anyways. by the time she has that baby, i'll be it's rightful guardian. i won't have my grandchild raised by you" he sneers
i snap back into reality at his words. he really thought he would be able to take my niece or nephew away?
"and what makes you think you'll actually get custody over a child that's not even yours? i mean come on, you already ran your wife off. not to mention basically ignored the fact that you have a second son. face it, all you do is ruin people's lives. this is why you have no one else. you run them off" i say crossing my arms
something flashes in my dad's eyes as he takes in my words. i'm not sure if it's good or bad. you could never really tell with him. he shocks us all by turning away and going back towards the elevator.
the lobby is now filled with the usual silence besides the sounds of wheelchairs being pushed and the phones ringing every few seconds.
"she's pregnant" Zion repeats
"we don't know that for sure" Elijah says
"it has to be. why else would she just disappear like that without telling us where she's going?" i say
everyone stays silent but i can tell Zion is having a mini heart attack from the look in his eyes. i place my hand on his should, guiding him towards a more quiet place.
"look, i know this is a shock to you. it is to me too but my sister needs you and so does your child. i know it's all happening so fast but you have to be there for her. she didn't do this by herself. i like you Zion, i do but i swear if you bail on my sister, i will kill you" i explain
he looks up at me with disbelief "i would never leave her. i love her. i'm going to be here for her and my baby. i don't care what anyone says. those two are my life now and i don't plan on leaving"
