Rose
When it was finally time to go home, I was thrilled. My steps quickened as crossed the gates of the parking lot and headed to where my car was parked.
"Hey! Wait up for us!" Amber called from behind me as she and Lynda practically jogged to keep up with me. I had parked my baby purposely beside Amber's white BMW in the morning. I unlocked the Lambo and had just pulled up the scissor door to get in when Amber came rushing to stop me.
"Rosie!" She propped her right hand against the car and took a minute to catch her breath. She pushed herself off the door and complained, "C'mon don't be in such a hurry to go home."
"Girl, I had the longest day today and I just want to lay in my bed," I replied with a sigh.
"But that sounds so boring! We have the day off for today, I thought we could go over to Lynda's."
"Amber, I-" I began but she cut me off.
"Pleasee Rosie, pleasee." Amber began pleading with me with her hands clasped together and an adorable pout on her face.
I was about to tell her not today when I heard someone clear their throat.
"What?" Amber snapped annoyed that someone was disturbing us. I feel bad for the person at Amber's outburst until I turned around and saw that it was Jason.
"Oh God."
My eyes widened as I realised that I'd said that out loud but Jason didn't look like he'd paid mind to it. The poor guy looked a paler probably feeling a bit scared of Amber as his brown eyes darted between us.
Amber rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath that sounded like, "I need to chill, this guy is Jade's brother," before quickly changing her composure.
"I mean, yes?" She rephrased.
Jason blinked a couple of times before coming back to reality and cleared his throat again.
"Do you want anything for that sore throat?" Amber shot back not being able to stop herself and I almost choked.
"Huh? I mean no." Jason laughed uncomfortably, "I just wanted to talk to Rose for a minute. "
Amber crossed her arms and narrowed them at him, making him instantly add, "If that's okay?"
"Yeah, I mean sure. Amber was just leaving," I replied before Amber could say anything else. Her protective side was showing meaning that she doesn't really like the guy enough to let him around me, so I decided it was best if I intervened.
"But-"
"Okay, I'll see you at Lynda's!" I put my hands on Amber's should and began pushing her towards her car where Lynda was waiting.
"Go. I'll be fine." I whispered lowly in her ears as we went around the car causing her shoulders to relax.
"You know what," Amber looked back at me from inside the car, "You can go straight home if you'd like."
"Love you." I blew her a kiss as she laughed and started the car. After they were gone, took a few steps towards my car where Jason was waiting.
Could I just tell him to come back tomorrow or would it sound too rude?
I was in no mood to listen to whatever the guy wanted to talk about but the guy wasn't that bad and I thought I'd just get this over with.
"So? What did you want to talk about?" I dug my hands into the back pockets of my jeans, leaning against the cool exterior of my car and looked up at him expectedly.
